That didn’t take long!

First came this photograph (click to enlarge and indulge in its full-sized glory), which had gone slightly viral on Twitter and Facebook, in which we see a young woman sharing her sentiments with a rotund Confederate soldier wannabe. Poor fella looks a little – well, uncomfortable around a strong and assertive woman. [UPDATE: The photo was taken Tuesday in Charlottesville, Virginia, at the site of a statue to one Robert E. Lee – more below.]

Then came the wag who decided to fire up Final Cut Pro, borrow some stock soundtrack music, and put his own Ken-Burns-like voice to good use to bring to life another Twitter wag’s thread imagining what this brave soldier for men’s rights, white rights, and bad choice of political movement and husky-sized clothing rights would be writing to his sweetheart back home:

UPDATE: The subject of the photo has been identified as Allen Armentrout, and he has just been expelled from the college he had been attending:

A High Point man, who stood in front of the General Robert E. Lee statue at Emancipation Park in Charlottesville, has been removed from his college in Florida.

Allen Armentrout stood in front of the statue on Tuesday, days after a deadly rally Saturday where a car crashed into a crowd and killed a woman after unrest and violence between protesters and white nationalists and neo-Nazi organizations.

Armentrout says he made the trip to Charlottesville to honor Lee, calling him “the greatest American that ever lived.”

On Thursday, Armentrout found out the staff of Pensacola Christian College decided to terminate his enrollment.

“I have been released from my school and will be unable to return to college to finish my senior year,” said Armentrout. “I’m processing this and making adjustments to my life to compensate for this scrutiny.”

Allies of Almentrout decided to start a GoFundMe page to raise $10,000 so that Almentrout could complete his indoctrination at Liberty University.

It did not go well:
