Don’t let the door hitcha where Beelzebub splitcha!

The White House says Omarosa Manigault Newman — one of President Donald Trump’s most prominent African-American supporters — plans to leave the administration next month.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders says Manigault Newman’s resignation is effective Jan. 20, one year since Trump’s inauguration.

Manigault Newman’s decision comes at the start of what’s expected to be a round of departures heading into the new year.

Buzzfeed adds:

Manigault resigned on Tuesday “to pursue other opportunities,” press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in a statement. Her resignation will not be effective until Jan. 20, 2018 — exactly one year since Trump took office.

Those of you familiar with human-resources-ese know that the magic term “to pursue other opportunities” almost always means unceremoniously given the heave-ho as opposed to voluntarily stepping down. One sees the hand of John Kelly and perhaps even Huckabee Sanders in this move, as both are none too comfortable with loose cannons.

Omarosa may not be the most powerful person in the White House, or even the most destructive, but she does seem to be causing a disproportionate amount of chaos.

Back in March, Omarosa improbably invited Daily Beast’s Elaina Plott to follow her around on St. Patrick’s Day, ahead of her April wedding at D.C.’s Trump Hotel. … Omarosa didn’t appear to get the interview cleared with anyone in charge of White House communications at the time. Neither the communications director Hope Hicks nor then-press secretary Sean Spicer were in contact with Plott. A journalist was running amok in the White House, and Omarosa was the only one aware. As one source told Plott, “No one in the comms department knew a random reporter was walking around the West Wing. This is why people think we’re a shit show.”

Oh, I think there are many, many more reasons the reality-based world thinks the Trump Regime is a shit show. But Omarosa was a major mitigating factor. ‘Nuff said.
