Just a dozen Klan members showed up at the Gettysburg battlefield Saturday and about 30 observers.

A demonstration against the KKK was held on the other side of Gettysburg and attended by about 60 people. Both events passed off without any major incidents or confrontations.

Participants at the KKK rally spoke out the federal health care law, illegal immigration and the national debt during the Saturday event, reported…

Richard Preston, head of the Maryland-based Confederate White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, obtained a federal permit for the event last week.

An initial KKK rally in Gettysburg became a casualty of the U.S. government shutdown on October 1 when National Parks officials told the group the event would have to be canceled.
