Some fundamentalist Christians are outraged after a pastor spotted a Bible labeled “fiction” at a Costco.

Caleb Kaltenbach, the lead pastor at non-denominational Discovery Church in Simi Valley, was shopping at Costco for a present for his wife when he came across the bibles and found the label strange.

Unable to find a store employee to question, Mr Kaltenbach snapped a picture of one of the Bibles and posted it to Twitter.

‘Costco has Bibles for sale under the genre of FICTION. Hmmmm…’ he wrote.

The chain quickly apologized for the label, saying that a distributor had made a mistake on a small batch of the Bibles and that they would be immediately addressing the issue.

‘We take responsibility and should have caught the mistake. We are correcting this with them for future distribution,’ Costco said. ‘We greatly apologize for the error.’

Kaltenbach applauded Costco for correcting the error, but nevertheless stated he doubted the would ever happen to the Koran.
