Sarah Palin immediately defended Phil Robertson even though she didn’t take the time to know what he said, and in what context, and she immediately decided it was a First Amendment issue, even though it wasn’t. My colleague Greta Van Susteren asked Palin if what the Duck Dynasty star said was graphic and offensive, after which Palin admitted she didn’t know what he said.

“I haven’t read the article. I don’t know exactly how he said it,” Palin said Monday on Fox News’s “On the Record with Greta Van Susteren.”After the GQ interview was published, Palin immediately came to Robertson’s defense by posting a statement on Facebook saying it was an issue of free speech and defended his comments in a TV appearance with Sean Hannity.

When Greta patiently explained to Palin that the Duck Dynasty issue had nothing to do with free speech, Palin said she’d leave it to lawyers to decide. Perhaps Ms. Palin doesn’t know that Greta is a lawyer.
