paul_craig_cobb.jpg.size.xxlarge.letterboxThis has not been a good year for Craig Paul Cobb. First, the white supremacist tried to set up an all-white enclave in rural Leith, North Dakota. As a guest on a British talk show, he received news that he is part black. He was arrested in Leith after wandering around with one of his racist toadies with guns in an effort to intimidate the locals. Other racists vandalized his home with graffiti. And now he has to raise a million bucks to get out of jail – while his new home faces demolition:

A district court judge on Friday set the price of Cobb’s release at $1 million after the North Dakota Supreme Court ordered he be entitled to a reasonable bond, the Bismarck Tribune reported. He has been jailed on charges of terrorizing since Nov. 16, after residents of Leith, N.D., the town he intended to turn into an all-white enclave, alleged he threatened them with a gun.

South Central District Judge Cynthia Feland cited concern about public safety and Cobb’s flight from a hate crime charge in Canada in setting the $1 million bond, according to the Tribune. Feland also stipulated that if Cobb posts bail, he may have no contact with any of his alleged victims and must remain in the state until he has permission to leave.

If he is released from custody, it’s unlikely Cobb will return to Leith. The city planned to demolish Cobb’s home after he missed a deadline to install water and sewer service on his property, and acquaintances who removed his belongings from the home said Cobb plans to relocate to Louisiana once his legal issues are resolved in North Dakota.

He’ll fit right in with Phil “The blacks had it great under Jim Crow” Robinson.
