Going around blasting the person to whom you just lost the presidency is inelegant. So far, just in the early days of 2014, Mitt Romney has been on an anti-Obama tear, blasting the president for the Affordable Care Act, and even for commparing it to Romneycare, even though they are both based on the individual mandate.  In his latest foray into sore-loserdom, Romney criticizes Obama by praising a communist, Vladimir Putin.

“I think Putin has outperformed our president time and time again on the world stage,” the former GOP presidential nominee said in an interview with NBC News published Friday.

Specifically, Romney noted Obama’s handling of NSA leaker Edward Snowden and Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad. Snowden is now residing in Russia under temporary political asylum.

So, let me get this straight: Putin has “outperformed” Obama by giving asylum to someone who, if allowed to live here would be another excuse to bash Obama.  I wonder how many 2014 candidates will want Romney to stump for them.
