After a child emailed an online school for help, three people were arrested for chaining three Ohio children to a bed, barely feeding them, and beating them with belts and paddles.

During interviews, the children told officials that they had been tied with ropes and chains and only allowed up to do school work on the computer. They said they were hungry since they did not always get food. They also told deputies that they were beaten with belts and paddles while naked. Two of the children, ages 9 and 11, also told deputies that they were sexually assaulted.

Medical officials confirmed that there were marks and scars on all of the children’s bodies. The children were transported to Cincinnati and then moved to Nationwide Children’s Hospital for treatment.

Three people are currently facing charges in the case.

Juan Carlos Sanchez, 44, was charged with three counts of Child Endangerment and two counts of rape. Sanchez is from the Virgin Islands and was staying in the residence. He’s being held on a $1 million bond.
