Greg Abbot likes to campaign as an attorney general who went after sexual predators online, but welcomes Ted Nugent to the campaign trail in spite of Nugent’s own self-admitted history with underage girls.

“I was addicted to girls. It was hopeless. It was beautiful,” Nugent said at the time. “I got the stamp of approval of their parents… I guess they figured better Ted Nugent than some drug-infested punk in high school.”

In a statement, Lone Star Project director Matt Angle ripped Abbott for scheduling multiple events with Nugent on election day while touting his effort to protect young Texans.

“Greg Abbott has crisscrossed our state publicly promising to protect Texas women and children while he’s been making plans to appear at campaign events with an admitted sexual predator,” Angle said….

“He spews hate against our first African-American president and in return, Attorney General Greg Abbott welcomes him to the campaign trail,” Texas Democratic Party chairman Gilberto Hinojosa said in a statement. “Is this how Abbott celebrates Black History Month? Texans deserve better than a statewide office holder and candidate running for governor who welcomes Ted Nugent and his repugnant comments.”

Someone should ask Abbott if he agrees with Nugent’s take on President Obama:

“I have obviously failed to galvanize and prod, if not shame enough Americans to be ever vigilant not to let a Chicago communist-raised, communist-educated, communist-nurtured subhuman mongrel like the ACORN community organizer gangster Barack Hussein Obama to weasel his way into the top office of authority in the United States of America,” Nugent, who has called for Obama to be impeached, said in January.
