Clint Galentine is facing his second surgery after he was shot twice with a high-powered rifle after being mistaken for a deer. The hunter is identified as Michael Trott, against whom  no charges are being filed.

It’s hard for Galentine to speak. Two bullets pierced his left side, one going through his arm, breaking a bone and possibly leaving permanent damage.

“I have already had one surgery to clean it out and get the bone fragments out,” Galentine said. “Then I am supposed to have surgery again tomorrow to try and reconstruct my arm. They do not know how much movement I (will) have once they get everything reconstructed.” Galentine said he and friend headed to the pathway to observe wild turkeys, the two men planned on practicing turkey calls but never got the chance. Officials said that’s when the hunter shot Galentine twice Sunday morning. The calm morning turned to panic when Galentine felt something strike him.
