Yale University believes 20-year-old Frances Chan has an eating disorder, and has threatened to throw her out of school if she doesn’t fix it. Chan has spent 20 months trying to get the school to understand that she is a small person, at 5’2″ and 92 pounds, but does not have an eating problem.

[She] finally convinced administrators she doesn’t have an eating disorder — it’s just genetically impossible for her to add weight to her 5-foot, 2-inch frame.

“It felt really bad to be this powerless,” she told the New Haven Register. “I ate ice cream twice a day. I ate cookies. I used elevators instead of walking up stairs. But I don’t really gain any weight.”
