Bail was set at $6 million for Megan Huntsman.

Based on interviews with Huntsman, investigators believed the babies died from strangulation, said Pleasant Grove detective Dan Beckstrom after the hearing.

An arrest affidavit adds that Huntsman told the police, after waiving her Miranda rights, that she gave birth to at least seven babies at her Pleasant Grove home — and that all but one was born alive — between 1996 and 2006. She also told the police that she strangled or suffocated the babies immediately after they were born, then concealed their bodies, the affidavit adds.

Investigators found the babies wrapped in a towel or shirt, placed inside of a plastic bag and each in a separate cardboard box, according to the affidavit.
