Fox News contributor Karl Rove has opened up a new front in the War On Hillary by speculating that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton may have suffered a “traumatic brain injury” when she was briefly hospitalized in December of 2012. Rove’s latest claim marks a change from Fox News’ previous conspiracy theory, that then-Secretary Clinton faked the injury.

At Tuesday’s White House Daily Briefing, NBC News White House Correspondent Peter Alexander asked Press Secretary Jay Carney to comment on Rove’s allegation, and Carney responded by calling Rove a brain-damaged hack, more or less.

Rove had said of Clinton, “Thirty days in the hospital? And when she reappears, she’s wearing glasses that are only for people who have traumatic brain injury? We need to know what’s up with that.”

Alexander noted that “they have their motivations for raising this topic,” (to which Carney interrupted, “Ya think?”) but asked Carney “Is there something about her health concern – traumatic brain injury or anything – that was communicated to the White House that has not been communicated publicly, or can you right now say…”
