Alyssa Funke, a 19-year-old student at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, shot herself to death after students at her former high school outed her as an actress in adult movies. Online harassment contributed to her suicide, according to her parents.

Funke, a straight-A student, did her first and only porn video—for the amateur site CastingCouch-X—earlier this year. She used the name Stella Ann, and talked with the cameraman about the sports she played in high school, her biology major, and her goal of becoming an anesthesiologist. She was 18 at the time.

Soon after the video went up, Funke started getting nasty messages from students at her former high school on Facebook and Twitter, calling her a slut and worse. One student tweeted, “Nothing brings a school together like a porn star who graduated last year. I guess you could say news spreads fast here at Stillwater hahah.”

There is a concerted effort to fire the embers of hate in our country, and if you don’t know where it is coming from, you have been living on another planet or have your head in the sand.

Nothing more pathetic than fake prudes who engage in slut shaming because they are jealous. And the real prudes just need to get over it, there may have been a use for prudishness a century ago but now it’ unnecessary.

As MikeATX put it, “When are the prudes in this country going to get over this sh*t? If someone wants to f**k for money, have at it! Doesn’t affect me or my family in any way, whatsoever.

    Bunch of f**king a**holes.”
