3807903_G… and your jaw is going to hit the floor when you read what he does for a living:

The president of a South Carolina Bible college was charged last week with essentially treating foreign students as slaves by forcing them to perform work for little or no pay.

According to The Sun News, federal prosecutors filed a criminal complaint against Cathedral Bible College President Reginald Wayne Miller, accusing him of forced labor.

To our surprise, law enforcement and judicial officials are taking this case very seriously:

[Miller] is not allowed to set foot on the college campus in Marion or communicate with any of the school’s current or former foreign students as an investigation continues into allegations that Miller threatened to cancel foreign students’ visas if they did not work long hours for little pay.

Those terms are part of a $250,000 secured bond that Magistrate Judge Thomas Rogers set for Miller during a detention hearing Friday in federal court. In addition, Miller will be on home detention and will be required to wear an electronic monitoring device.

“I don’t think we’ve identified all of the potential victims yet,” said Carrie Fisher, the assistant U.S. attorney prosecuting the case. Fisher said some victims may have already left the country and some may be former students who have yet to come forward. “Our investigation just started this week.”

The bible does endorse slavery, so he’s just practicing his religion.

    • Budda May 25th, 2014 at 6:16 pm

Got a point there….however it is a couple of thousand years later. Just saying

      • Dwendt44 May 26th, 2014 at 12:38 am

Perhaps, but there plenty of those that want to ‘give me that old time religion’ and shove in down everyone else’s throat.

        • MargaretEDavis May 26th, 2014 at 9:50 am

I don’t mind anyone practicing their religion. But I think there is discrimination there when they try to make everyone do what they do.

      • fahvel May 26th, 2014 at 2:38 am

so what? do you think anything has changed?

    • fahvel May 26th, 2014 at 2:37 am

and stone them if they complain – sad, aint it?

    • Gina Pocan May 27th, 2014 at 8:46 am

You’re wrong. You must not read the bible. If you do, you’re not understanding it. Yes, there were slaves in the bible, but God never required it. Jesus never advocated it. The bible also tells us to obey the laws of our land. So, the fact that slavery is illegal in this country, means he not only disobedient to the government, but also disobedient to God, because he rebelled against the laws of this land.

  3. sandra May 25th, 2014 at 6:21 pm

Sounds like the temporary foreign workers program in Canada except our so-called government is entirely responsible for creating a program that allows businesses to exploit and abuse TFWs while driving down wages in Canada. Chronic and debilitating unemployment here. We’re hearing all kinds of horror stories from TFWs working for little or nothing who have been afraid to speak up for fear of deportation. Glad to hear that U.S. authorities are dealing with this Christian bottom feeder!

    • Gina Pocan May 27th, 2014 at 8:41 am

A true Christian wouldn’t do this.

There is too little information in this “article” to be clear if he violated anyone’s rights, or not. Allegations are often lies for personal or economic gain. Be careful.

    • MargaretEDavis May 26th, 2014 at 9:49 am

Sp if he didn’t do anything wrong why dont’ YOU take off to SC and work for this guy for nothing. I mean it said right in the article he forced the foreign students to work for nothing or little pay. That’s clear to me.

    • Nubian May 27th, 2014 at 4:11 am

Their only incentive to work was fear of being stripped of their Visa and you
question whether or not anyone’s rights were being violated. They were coerced
into working for “little or no pay” not because they wanted to, but out of
FEAR. As defined by Dictionary.com, Civil Rights are: “1. The personal rights of the individual citizen, in most countries upheld by law, as in the US 2.of, relating to, or promoting equality in social, economic, and political rights.”

      • A J Jackson Gum May 28th, 2014 at 7:33 am

What “work” did he have these students doing? Act as dorm reception for a few hours or cleaning bathrooms and scrubbing floors for days? All I’m saying is this article doesn’t say. There is nothing wrong is waiting until the ACTUAL AND COMPLETE facts are known before making a villain out of the Prez.

        • Hazard Lain June 1st, 2014 at 12:18 pm

He made a villain out of himself. It doesnt matter if it was “as little” as cleaning and scrubbing bath rooms or answering phones. Janitorial employees get paid anywhere between 7.25 to 11.00 an hour depend where you stay in the usa, so again regardless of how long or how little the job it was still wrong if they 1. Where not getting paid. 2. Was scared into working for fear of loosing their visa and 3. Made to do it. I am a veteran and how ive seen my country go down is horrible. For you to believe in God this looks really badly for the Christian community. God is a loving God, a caring God. No where in the bible does it say take your own vengeance. In the bible it says vengeance is mine saith the Lord.

  6. Judgeforyourself37 May 26th, 2014 at 10:50 am

Oh, my what “good Christians” these Bible toting nuts are showing themselves to be. If this is “Bible College” is teaching about the man they “say” they are trying to emulate, and want their “students” (probably only students born on US soil, of course) to emulate, that man might have something to say regarding their actions.

  7. Judgeforyourself37 May 26th, 2014 at 10:55 am

How does any woman vote Republican? Oh, the Repubs, who have been overtaken by the Tea Party wing nuts, scream about “small government, but when it comes to women’s bodies they seem to feel that they have full reign

    • William May 27th, 2014 at 8:42 am

“How does any woman vote Republican?”
      It does make one wonder.

  8. Ron Jackson May 26th, 2014 at 11:08 am

What is it about the bible thumping southern racist that they somehow believe that they have a right to enslave others

    • jwald1 May 26th, 2014 at 12:11 pm

It is in the bible and they love to cherry pick that.

      • Gina Pocan May 27th, 2014 at 8:37 am

Yes, slavery is in the bible, but no where does God require us to have slaves. No where in the New Testament does Jesus advocate slavery. So, cherry pick that. They’re wrong. The bible also tells us to obey the laws of our government. It is illegal to enslave people here. This means they are being disobedient, which also means they are disobedient to God as well. Chain reaction.

    • alani May 31st, 2014 at 11:16 am

Jesus Christ was the Prince of peace and emancipator who fought for the downtrodden. Everyone who calls themselves Christian are not Godly. Just like pedophiles are drawn to children, wicked people are drawn to church.

  9. Shieena Living Waters May 26th, 2014 at 9:26 pm

Sounds like a smaller version of the USA Government. Forced to work (if you like eating) for little pay. The power of the many has been stripped of the few. Thats why they just tabled the REPEAL First Amendment Free Speech Bill- authored by 41 Democrats- to shut us truth speakers up. We are not free- we are ruled.

    • Gina Pocan May 27th, 2014 at 8:34 am

What the hell does that have to do with this man abusing exchange students?

      • Shieena Living Waters May 27th, 2014 at 11:29 am

You know your right-I wasn’t referring to the abuse part- which is horrendous and its inexcusable. Just as its inexcusable the way the system imprisons people for smoking pot- harming no one. Yet man-made drugs are far more deadly- just watch a commercial. My point is that whether you are an individual or a government- the golden rule is do no harm. Most people harm no one and yet are injured by the system. Unless you have first hand knowledge of what I see and hear from law enforcement- you won’t have a grasp of the gravity of the abuse that they are not held accountable for- so my wish is that this guy get his just do but I also pray for the day our government does too- as they are not a government but a corporation and registered religious entity under the Vatican- its public info off their own websites. I hope to reach those who are clueless. Research it .

This headline is a disgrace!!! Obviously, Cathedral Bible College President Reginald Wayne Miller’s alleged treatment of those is awful, ridiculous, and should be punish; BUT TO COMPARE IT TO ENSLAVEMENT in AMERICA is a total disgrace, and it shows that for people to cavalierly overlook that fact, especially in the state of South Carolina is shameful…Do you even know what these did to enslaved Africans in that very state for HUNDREDS of years — murder, rape, molestation, torture, terror and even more unspeakable things…Do any of you recognize how sad that is, in the year 2114??? I think this is “truly telling!!!”

    • Gina Pocan May 27th, 2014 at 8:31 am

As defined by the Merriam-Webster dictionary, slavery can be:
“submission to a dominating influence”… A few synonyms are: “bondage, enslavement, servility, servitude.”These people were not willingly working for this man free of pay. They were coerced with the threat of losing their visa. Just as many other slaves have in the past, they complied out of fear. Just because he didn’t use whips or nooses does not mean he did not enslave them. I
don’t believe the intent of this article was to diminish what former slaves have
endured, but to illustrate the injustice behind what this man has done.

      • Gina Pocan May 27th, 2014 at 8:30 am

Somehow he missed that part…He’s an extremist an is trying to make light of what this anti-christ did.

        • Wole Mongo Ifa May 27th, 2014 at 8:26 pm

Gina….What can I say?? You are wrong. You are greatly biased, and you didn’t read my post very well, because the FIRST THING I WROTE was how horrible the President’s alleged actions were and if proven, ‘should be punished — gravely!!’ But, the tone and dismissiveness of your attitude really shows! Perhaps you should take a deep breathe, and consider things once more, before doing-what-it-seems-you-do….Thanks for your attention.

          • Gina Pocan June 11th, 2014 at 11:23 pm

Maybe I did. I apologize then.

      • Wole Mongo Ifa May 27th, 2014 at 8:20 pm

Nubian, well argued position. Very mature. I can also see how this treatment could fall under the definition of the term! And, thus, would not necessarily be referencing the early American experience. Thanks for that explanation; as opposed to the common defensiveness!

    lol not surprised.

  13. Mimi Yulo June 1st, 2014 at 11:21 pm

OMG This is so horrible. I cannot believe a Christian would do something like this. Reading this type of evil will mess with your vibration. Relax your eyes I visit this site bit.ly/1wQPZWp it will definitely help lift your spirits.

    • JohnVHedtke August 1st, 2014 at 10:56 am

I can easily believe that a Christian would do this. I’ve known them, I’ve worked for them, and I’ve seen them running loose in politics. I have a gay daughter living in a backward state. I’m a member of a minority religion. Believing that Christians would do things like this? Ohhhhhh, yeahhhhhhh….

(I’m not saying “they’re all bad.” For example, I’m enormously impressed with people like the United Church of Christ, wonderful folks who walk the walk. I love the Quakers, too. I’m just saying that this is no surprise.)
