South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham wants hearings on the release of prisoners from Gitmo.

“While I appreciate an American was released from captivity, this decision by the Obama Administration has serious implications for our future national security,” Mr. Graham wrote to Sens. Carl Levin, Michigan Democrat, and James Inhofe, Oklahoma Republican.

Mr. Graham called the five detainees “the hardest of the hard-core” and said the United States is now less safe.

“I fear President Obama’s decision will inevitably lead to more Americans being kidnapped and held hostage throughout the world,” he wrote.

Congressman Buck McKeon of California promises there will be House hearings as well.

“It really is ironic, because this is kind of playing out much like Benghazi, where they kind of do or don’t do something, and then kind of come up with a story afterwards of why they did or didn’t do something,” McKeon said. “This president has a reputation, I think well-deserved, of deciding which laws he’s going to enforce and which laws he’s not going to enforce.”

“We still haven’t heard the details,” McKeon said of the prisoner swap. “We don’t know what they’re doing about these five, how they’re going to keep them out of the fight. We just are in the dark. And this is a violation of the law, no matter what [National Security Advisor Susan Rice] said.”

well, gee, why not just send everybody back and see how that works for ya?

beats spending gazillions of more dollars on do nothing meaningless congressional / senate hearings that only give the ‘expert’ reich wing talk shows a half azz excuse to keep their volume turned up.

seems to me there was a situation during the illegal Iraqi occupational liberation where some American soldiers went missing, only to be found dead in the alleyways of Baghdad?

maybe, like in the Republican Reagan Administration it’s only OK to negotiate when it’s DEAD American Military?

bring on the hearings – let these bonehead fascist do nothings show the world their true agenda!
