Top Republican Candidate for Governor Led Birther Effort in Arizona (via FreakOutNation)

Although Ken Bennett, the Arizona secretary of state, may claim he’s not a birther, he most certainly is. Bennett infamously threatened to leave President Obama off the ballot in the state if Hawaii didn’t produce verification of Obama’s birthplace…

Sunshine in Government. Always a good idea.

Why does Obama have a Social Security Card issued from the State of Connecticut? Obama never lived in Connecticut. I know you punks can’t be honest with yourself, or anyone else,, but if G. Bush has a Connecticut SSN, the news would still be reporting it 10 years later.

Obviously there isn’t enough sunshine in Government.

Connecticut social security number? What is wrong with you?

He is repeating yet another right wing delusion which has been debunked on countless occasions.

The low information birther crowd was wetting themselves over the President having a social security number starting with 042. As explained in this link, the first 3 digits known as the area number have nothing to do with the applicant’s residence location.

        http://www.ssa.gov/history/ssn/geocard.html

The nine-digit SSN is composed of three parts:

The first set of three digits is called the Area Number

The second set of two digits is called the Group Number

The final set of four digits is the Serial Number

        Area Number

The Area Number is assigned by the geographical region. Prior to 1972, cards were issued in local Social Security offices around the country and the Area Number represented the State in which the card was issued. This did not necessarily have to be the State where the applicant lived, since a person could apply for their card in any Social Security office. Since 1972, when SSA began assigning SSNs and issuing cards centrally from Baltimore, the area number assigned has been based on the ZIP code in the mailing address provided on the application for the original Social Security card. The applicant’s mailing address does not have to be the same as their place of residence. Thus, the Area Number does not necessarily represent the State of residence of the applicant, either prior to 1972 or since.

all of the below is true enough. except obama got his ssn after 1972. He didn’t have an SSN until he entered college.

These are nice little fantasies, though.

That’s why Frum said, “Republicans have been Fleeced, Exploited And Lied To’ by a Conservative Entertainment Complex”.

          it’s a great racket.

Still believing this BS is a sure sign of idiocy…or hatred…or racism…

There is no such thing as “a Social Security Card issued from the State of Connecticut”. Social Security cards are not issued by states.

And no, if George Bush had a “Connecticut SSN” (if such a thing existed, which it doesn’t) nobody would ever have reported it at all. BTW, are you unaware of the fact that Bush was born in Connecticut?

      • Shootist June 16th, 2014 at 1:26 pm

        Squirrel! bark bark bark

SSNs are issued by State of residence.especially after 1972.

        • Calvinius June 16th, 2014 at 7:25 pm

No, dumbass, Social Security numbers are not and have never been issued by state of residence.

          • Shootist June 16th, 2014 at 8:51 pm

not by the state, foolish one, by State of Residence. Your number tells where you got the card, you hammerhead.

          • Carla Akins June 16th, 2014 at 8:55 pm

No, it’s simply based on the mailing address. It has nothing to do with the state of residence.

          • Shootist June 16th, 2014 at 10:44 pm

where you got your card . . .

          • Carla Akins June 17th, 2014 at 4:49 am

You don’t get the card from the state – it mailed to the address you request. I have an adult child that travels extensively and continues to have her “important” mail (taxes, passport, etc) sent to me at her childhood home. Not everything is so nefarious, sometimes it’s just practical..

As an Arizonan he won’t be getting my vote. Forget the birther thing, it’s enough that he chaired Romney’s campaign in AZ. Recent reports show that Arizona is becoming more purple than red or blue as more and more of us register as Independents. Hopefully that’ll start showing up in our elected officials soon.

As an Arizonan he will get my vote, now have fun attacking me. I will have a good laugh with all your nasty comments ….
