Officer Fatally Shoots Special Needs Girl
The girl’s family want answers as to why their 18-year-old special needs daughter was shot and killed. The family called authorities because she wouldn’t take her medication and they were worried she would harm herself.
Deputy Menh Trieu claims that when they arrived at the home, Yanira was acting erratically and confronted the officers. Trieu says that he feared for his life when she came at him with a knife, so he had no choice but to fire his weapon. Tragically, the 18-year-old died from the shooting, and now, her family is demanding answers.
“We want answers,” said Lorenzo Serrano. “Why didn’t they use a Taser? We just want to know what really happened. She was really loving and caring, really sweet with my parents. I still can’t believe this happened to my sister.”

Couple of questions here, why is not taking medication a matter for the police? And don’t they train cops in hand-to-hand combat anymore? A “trained” police officer is incapable of restraining an untrained teenage girl with a steak knife? Or was it a pocket knife? Butter knife? And when did they remove “to protect and serve” from the police motto? What is it now, “call us and we’ll shoot your dog and your kids” ? How about when cops recently tossed a flash grenade into a baby’s crib.
