    Author is a nancy boy.

There you have it: confirmation that the right-wing obsession about gun ownership rights is tied to anxieties about masculinity. The gun is a penis substitute, a long, hard implement to compensate for male inadequacies.

The problem with gun violence is not only political and cultural, it’s also psychological.

      • Sam B June 14th, 2014 at 12:34 pm

The problem is fools like the Author of this article and you. If you don’t like guns don’t own them. Don’t tell anyone they can’t have as many ad they like. If you own guns don’t allow anyone else access to them. How about mental health screening prior to purchase? But if you want to take them away,

Thank you for proving the points of both the author of the article and jasperjava. You are nothing more than a scared bully who just can’t wait to show how “manly” you are by ending another person’s life.

          • Sam B June 14th, 2014 at 4:19 pm

No thank you for being so “brilliant” as to accuse me of ending someones life.
            Troll.

at least you signed this one somewhat honestly Troll.

if mental health were required you couldn’t get a strw from the candy store to use as a pea shooter – go away fool.

        • fahvel June 15th, 2014 at 7:05 am

you are about as spartan as an orifice that needs to push push push to accomplish anything. the idea that with your blather you can think of using a term referring to great warriors albeit foolish ones.

        • edmeyer_able June 15th, 2014 at 12:01 pm

Don’t tell ANYONE, not even those who have a mental disorder or who have previously harmed others WTF.

jasperjava, you and I go wayyyy back on this site, (I am baD mR fRosTy, but can no longer seem to log in as that…that email is defunct)and I generally find you to be a thoughtful poster – but what you have written here is nonsensical gibberish. Firearms ownership is not a political issue, or a “left/right” one. You don’t get much further “left” than me: I believe in a minimum guaranteed annual income, re-legalizing pot, public access to safe clean abortions, free birth control, TRUE progressive tax rates, plural marriage, brothels, and a carbon tax so we can turn our resources to finding an alternative to our addiction to oil…

…but I am, and have been for many years, an avid hunter, collector and range marksman.

Perhaps if my “penis” could drop a moose at 300 yards, you might have a point, otherwise, you only serve to further the divide with such poppycock…

BTW, Gallup informs us that, in the US (I’m in Canada), a full 40% of Democrats either own a firearm, or live with a loved one who does. You wouldn’t see Obama supporting Dianne Glockstein type “bans” if he thought it had a snowball’s chance…

So why not start putting an end to this false meme that “only wackjob rightwingers” enjoy the shooting sports?

It’s as wrong as it is childish…and it obstructs dialogue and progress.

Watch your language please. I wouldn’t go to your house and call you a bitch.

      • Sam B June 14th, 2014 at 8:45 pm

I don’t care what you’d do. I however will use whatever language I fucking like bitch.

        • Anomaly 100 June 14th, 2014 at 8:48 pm

In that case, you’re banned. I did ask nicely.

          • jasperjava June 14th, 2014 at 9:11 pm

Interesting that he used the “edit” function to change his original post. As I recall, at first it was “Author is a wuss” or something of that nature. Interesting that he decided to up the ante from an attack on “weak” men who don’t feel the need to emphasize their masculinity by putting a gun between their legs, to attacking him with a word used to put down women who are aggressive (or otherwise displeasing to certain men).

This Sam B dude has huge psycho-sexual issues, but then a lot of gun nuts do.

          • Anomaly 100 June 14th, 2014 at 9:14 pm

I didn’t even notice the ‘wuss’ post but calling the author a bitch is certainly not adding anything worthy to the discussion.

          • fahvel June 15th, 2014 at 6:58 am

is there a real way to ban or red flag dim wits like this piece of garbage?

          • Anomaly 100 June 15th, 2014 at 7:52 am

You can flag comments and the mods will get them and review them. It’s pretty easy to ban someone although I don’t typically enjoy it. But in this case, I LOLed when I did it.

    • fahvel June 15th, 2014 at 6:57 am

you are an ass for using the b word and also a bigger ass for thinking and speaking and writing so others get exposed to your gibberish.

      • Carla Akins June 15th, 2014 at 7:38 am

Sam B had his opportunity, and he blew it. He’s gone.

    • Carla Akins June 15th, 2014 at 7:36 am

Actually, you can’t use any language you please – on this site. This site is private property, spew your hate elsewhere, you are no longer welcome here.

  2. fahvel June 15th, 2014 at 6:56 am

excellent ideas except for the fact that he is talking to folks who say Bahhhhhhh.
