John Triton Harvard, 5, was killed by a pit bull in April, His mother Johnna  was threatened twice by a pit bull while visiting his grave in Pell City, AL.

“We were able to jump back in the vehicle and call 9-1-1,” Ms. Harvard told ABC.

Pell City Police Captain Joshua Herren confirmed, “As the officer started to back away, the dog charged the officer and officer was forced to discharge the firearm,” according to the Washington Times.

Harvard captured the incident on video. She said that the police officer had to shoot the Pit Bull to protect the public. “It charged, it was not going to stop.”

“These dogs are everywhere,” she told reporters, “They are not being properly leashed and cared for.”

A cat would never do that.

      Ever see a Serval?

Second that. In my experience, well balanced people have cocker spaniels, beagles, dogs like that. There is a huge overlap between ammosexuals and pit bull owners. Both are penis substitutes.

And of course, superior people have cats.

Completely agree – unfortunately you are about to be savaged by the vicious dog entitlement crowd who will blame everything on “bad dog owners” rather than “good dog owners” – you know the excuse the NRA uses.

        • EstebanCafe July 2nd, 2014 at 2:03 pm

          Modus ponens: If A, then B. A, therefore B ?

So, dog owners are either all bad or all good ? Just like gun owners are all bad or all good ? To differentiate is an “excuse” ?

          Reason stares; logic gapes.

          • Jake July 2nd, 2014 at 2:21 pm

You’ve got the wrong end of the stick (fetch boy!) – its not the pit bull owners or gun owners – its the pit bulls and guns.

          • EstebanCafe July 2nd, 2014 at 2:31 pm

Then you had best include cars (accidents take many lives); spoons (make people fat), water–lots of child drown, etc.
To exclude the human making the decision and go to the instrument itself isn’t logical or rational and ignores human nature. Just take away the dogs and guns and all will be well ?
Now logic stares while reason gapes.

          • Jake July 2nd, 2014 at 2:45 pm

When used correctly cars, spoons and water do not kill. Can’t say the same for the natural behavior and uses of pit bulls and guns.
Logic and reason get together and head off for a dirty weekend in Vegas.

          • EstebanCafe July 2nd, 2014 at 3:17 pm

“When used correctly…” prescribes a user and proper use. The latter carried out by a human. It is a human holding the spoon, leash, gun, behind the wheel, etc.

Hope they have a nice weekend. I’ve found both highly compatible.

Guns are designed to kill. When used for their intended purpose, that is exactly what they do. Now, clearly, you could use it as a bat or a hammer or a suppository, but that is not it’s intended function. Cars, spoons, and water were not designed to kill. You present a false choice. Limit nothing until we can fix human nature (5000 years of recorded history says that ain’t happening soon) or outlaw everything because virtually anything could conceivably be used by a determined human to kill. Ridiculous proposition.

Saw a guy training his pit to be aggressive. it’s definitely the owners.

      • Judgeforyourself37 July 2nd, 2014 at 1:56 pm

Only really emotionally secure people own cats, as cats to not worship their owners as dogs do. A guy/gal gets a dog and treats him/her well and the dog thinks you’re God.

Well, you’ve touched a number of leftist bases:

        1. Judgment as to who is well balanced, predicated upon what type of dog is owned.
        2. Sexually denigrating reference of others x 2.
        3. Superiority linked to external rather than internal quality, in this case a cat.

Well done, madam, well done indeed.

Pit bulls don’t kill people, pit bull owners kill people…..or something like that.

  3. craig7120 July 2nd, 2014 at 1:34 pm

Every pitbull owner always says the samething, my dog would never attack. The breed are bred to not distinguish what is a threat and what is not.
I’m a dog guy but I know not to trust any animal, saying that, my bordeaux is called big baby for a reason, but I wouldn’t leave a child alone with her, that’s just irresponsible. The pitbull that lived next to me wanted to kill me and every person it seen, guees what, she was never trained to attack anyone, it was a pound puppy. There is a culture of city residents that are breeding pitbulls and picking 1 or 2 from the litter the rest they give away or open the gate.
Now, would my dog maul a child if they climbed my fence to retrieve their ball, I would bet lots of money she would have the ball in her mouth wanting to play fetch, waging her tail. Owners know their dogs, but pitbull owners are in denial and defensive because of the dogs reputation. There is a reason they are chosen to fight to the death, they’re extremely skilled and bred to kill. You certainly don’t see labs or golden retrievers in a dog fighting ring now do you?

My uncle had a dog that was part pit, raised to be gentle with the kids and rough with burglars. Never went after kids.

Cops don’t stop crime or bad situations like these, they report them (pad of paper, photographer, chalk outlines of the bodies, etc.). You Americans used to be tougher and manage these matters without state involvement. What happened to you ?

Sounds like mom needed a gun in both situations. When seconds count, cops are just minutes away. You’re on your own out there folks.
