Bush Library Apologizes To Breastfeeding Mom
Mothers continue to have trouble finding places to breastfeed that don’t offend people. At the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum Vanessa Bailey was told by three security guards she couldn’t breastfeed in the lobby. She called attention to it by going on the Twitter.
“Was just told nursing is only allowed in the bathroom stall per museum policy. What the what?!” read one tweet to @GWBLibrary.
Other similar tweets were sent to the accounts of former first lady Laura Bush and her daughter Jenna Bush Hager, also a new mother.
Late Monday night, the library’s Twitter account offered an apology and explanation.
The action was inconsistent with the official policy at the @GWBLibrary which supports federal law defining a mothers rights to feed.
