A disturbing video has surfaced showing Isaiah Tweedie and his friends leaving a restaurant in Delta Township, Michigan, when another customer, Victor Sadet, follows them, then launches into an anti-gay tirade filled with homophobic slurs.

WILX spoke Sadet who said he reacted because of his religious principles.

The New Civil Rights Movement posted the dialogue:

Tweedie filmed the incident with his camera phone and posted the video to his Facebook page.

“I said, ‘fucking faggot.’ You want a picture? Take a picture,” the man, who approaches Tweedie, says repeatedly.

“I’m an American, born in America,” the unnamed man says. Tweedie replies, “I’m an American too, honey.”

“You’re a fucking faggot,” the man again says. “I am a fucking faggot,” Tweedie replies.

“God’s law — Leviticus, Leviticus — you should be put to death,” the man yells, pointing to Tweedie.

“This is a man who is deep in his beliefs to the point of delusion,” Tweedie told WILX.

Watch:

If Sadet is concerned over the laws in Leviticus, he should try to adhere to all of them.

Oh those wild and wacky gays.

    • EnuffBull August 7th, 2014 at 11:08 am

Oh those wild and wacky “It’s-in-da-bible-so-Gawd-made-me-do-it” religious nutjobs!

    • James Gammell August 7th, 2014 at 11:11 am

Oh those wild and wacky religious nutjobs who follow you into a parking lot and say you should be stoned to death.

    • Khary A August 7th, 2014 at 11:12 am

No one enjoying themselves that much doing such a simple thing can be all that evil. I mean look at that grin. LOL

      • William August 7th, 2014 at 11:12 am

Yeah some people have missed the snark here.

  2. labman57 August 7th, 2014 at 11:11 am

Further evidence that homophobia should be officially characterized as a form of mental illness.

    • William August 7th, 2014 at 11:15 am

      I think it already is.

      • Dwendt44 August 7th, 2014 at 11:58 am

Ya right. Then turn around and claim they should be allowed to marry because they can’t ‘reproduce’.

    jackass

  4. EnuffBull August 7th, 2014 at 11:20 am

How is that “stand your ground” law in Michigan? Sounds like these two have been threatened by a person willing to kill them.

  5. Eric Trommater August 7th, 2014 at 11:36 am

It’s like internet trolling on in real life! I feel sorry for this guy’s family (I assume he has few or any friends). Not only does he look like a complete tool on local TV but they have to put up with him being a real tool in everyday life.

  6. Suzanne McFly August 7th, 2014 at 11:50 am

In a couple years this guy will be in the local paper for pedophilia or trying to solicit a male prostitute. People who consume themselves with the sex lives of others are simply hiding or denying something.

    • William August 7th, 2014 at 2:59 pm

When you really think about it, obsessing about another mans sex life is pretty gay. Khaki boy has gone out of his way.

  7. Dwendt44 August 7th, 2014 at 11:59 am

Dam good thing this is a secular country under a secular Constitution.

  8. Robert Merrill Taylor August 7th, 2014 at 12:04 pm

    Another deeply closeted gay man.

    • Rusty Shackleford August 7th, 2014 at 3:39 pm

No thank you. He’s all yours, heterosexuals. Stop trying to dump the garbage of your community onto mine; we don’t want him.

You’re perpetuating several very harmful ideas with this bullshit:

      1. That being gay is something to hide and be ashamed of.

      2. That people need to be self-loathing to express hatred towards others. Some people are just fucking hateful. Do you think the KKK hates being white?

      3. That people’s private sexual histories are a matter of public record, whether they want them to be or not.

Seriously, can we just fucking stop with the “every homophobe is closeted” nonsense? Besides all of the above, it’s just TRITE at this point. It’s tired and worn-out and completely effortless. Is that really the best insult we can do? Are we still in middle school? HAHA YOU’RE GAY!

      • Red Mann August 7th, 2014 at 11:04 pm

That meme is grossly overworked, but I think that guys like the a$$wipe in the video are simply unsure of their own sexuality, especially since they think you can catch teh gay. There is a lot of posturing. all the macho man BS, to ensure themselves and others that they are not one of the group they despise, and whom they are actually afraid of. Of course, religion, especially the fundigelicals, gives them license to behave in such a disgusting manner and the political right gives its tacit support to them.

  9. RioBravoHombre August 7th, 2014 at 12:21 pm

The rightist haters on Fox News and hatriot radio need to step up and take credit for people like this idiot. Years of hatred and lies being spewed by the GOP and their propagandist mouthpieces has emboldened their hatefilled flock to the point that they feel free to go public with their irrational vitriol.

  10. Rick Ladd August 7th, 2014 at 12:45 pm

My first impulse is to suggest this man just needs to be shot on the spot, but I’m pretty sure the downstream consequences of that would be less than desirable. So . . . let’s see. What can be done. Well, how about we get better and better and identifying and publicizing this kind of aberrant behavior? How about we use satire and sarcasm (ala The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, etc.) to marginalize and ostracize these hateful idiots? They do, after all, offer absolutely nothing constructive to society, despite their mistaken belief they are the ones who are moral and principled.

    • tiredoftea August 7th, 2014 at 1:15 pm

Fortunately, they self identify with every utterance. That make them easy to spot, whether it’s on TV, radio, blogs or IRL, as Mr.Sadet has done. The problem, though, is that their sarcasm gene doesn’t express itself properly, so it’s all an attack on them, and not just the good fun we know it to be.

  11. m2old4bs August 7th, 2014 at 12:46 pm

Personally, this dude needs to be charged with bullying, considering he followed the other people out to harass them. He needs to be held accountable for his actions, and not just in the court of public opinion. What a black heart he has.

    • Elliot J. Stamler August 7th, 2014 at 7:23 pm

In NY state he could be arrested for the misdemeanor of harassment. I don’t know if there is a similar statute in Michigan. I can’t see from the video if this Sadet character is carrying a sidearm–he’s carrying a sidearm. Assuming he is not and Mr. Tweedie is reasonably fit and young he should have gone up to him, smiling, and said, I’d like to talk to you…and then kicked/punched him in the groin so hard the boob’s balls (assuming he has any) would have come flying out of his mouth. Yeah, yeah–I know. Violence, blah blah blah.

    • John David Peer August 7th, 2014 at 11:20 pm

Then the US must recognize the LGBTQ community as an entity, and protect it with hate speech laws.

Please don’t try to excuse this homophobic attack with the 1st amendment.

Just like with the 2nd, with rights come responsibilities.

  12. peteykins August 7th, 2014 at 1:01 pm

My favorite part is the guy’s Facebook page, where he expresses admiration for both Jesus and Hustler Magazine.

    • tiredoftea August 7th, 2014 at 1:16 pm

I admire your bravery for going there, but I really didn’t want to know that!

  13. Diana Dee August 7th, 2014 at 1:59 pm

So, this Isaiah Tweedie also follows hetro couples that are divorced, remarried, living together or fornicating and gives them the biblical riot act, huh? Jesus named those sinners by name!

    • Anomaly100 August 7th, 2014 at 2:03 pm

For reals? He didn’t follow anyone. Isaiah was followed. Try to keep up.

      • Roy Blankenship August 7th, 2014 at 6:31 pm

It was a supposition, a question, as in, what other people does this “religious” guy harass that are doing things against Jesus and the Bible?

        • Anomaly100 August 7th, 2014 at 6:34 pm

Oh OK. Just so you know, Isaiah Tweedie is the name of the gay man he was harassing. That’s why I was confused:-)

          • Roy Blankenship August 7th, 2014 at 6:44 pm

Yes, since the guy was all Biblical, the name Isaiah could have been a point of confusion. Plus, if he wants to follow Leviticus, he needs to be out there killing his neighbor for working on the Sabbath…..

  14. Tom August 7th, 2014 at 2:35 pm

Anyone wearing that much khaki is the first sign he’s unbalanced.

    • shocktreatment August 7th, 2014 at 9:31 pm

If you’re playing ‘Spot the Loon’, it’s a gimme, like anyone wearing a Members Only jacket…

      • tiredoftea August 7th, 2014 at 9:34 pm

Isn’t there quite a bit of overlap there?

        • shocktreatment August 7th, 2014 at 11:31 pm

It’s kinda similar to Scrabble. Now spot a guy wearing top to bottom khaki, with a lacquered “I’m not bald” comb-over, AND a Members Only jacket… We’re talking triple word score, or triple loon score–

      • Skip Patterson August 8th, 2014 at 12:01 am

Wasn’t the “Members Only” thing back in the 80’s?

        • shocktreatment August 8th, 2014 at 12:25 am

Yeah, early eighties, but every now and then, a ‘revivalist’ is seen, other times a sport who just couldn’t stand to part with his.

  15. Jeff Spicoli August 7th, 2014 at 4:43 pm

Little hillbilly’s mad he has no education to get a well paying job so he’s going to take it out on Obama and Gays. Look you toohles, skoal chewing redneck we don’t care about your issues, that’s something you need to take up with a psychiatrist or therapist YOU messed your little worthless life up not illegal immigrants, gays or our president. Quit trying to make your problem ours, we don’t care. Get an education, see a dentist if you can afford one and cram that bible of yours where the sun don’t shine. White trash.

    • Um Cara August 7th, 2014 at 6:41 pm

Well I care about his problems, but I’m a lib. Caring about people is what we do.

    • SkeeterVT August 17th, 2014 at 5:00 pm

How ironic that you name yourself after Sean Penn’s first film role. Who would have thought that 30 years later, Penn would portray Harvey Milk (and win the best-actor Oscar)?

  16. clo August 7th, 2014 at 6:38 pm

    Pathetic…

  17. shocktreatment August 7th, 2014 at 6:57 pm

    “Fetch my tranquilizer gun”

  18. Elliot J. Stamler August 7th, 2014 at 7:27 pm

Get this straight: Victor Sadet is NOT religious. He is an enemy of religion and of God. He wraps up his hatred in religion to justify it. No genuinely religious person would do what he did. He is evil not righteous and thus can be reasonably thought satanic in his malevolence toward a total stranger.

    • XAV August 7th, 2014 at 8:31 pm

Yeah, but he’s not that rare of a bird. There certainly are a lot of “not genuinely religious” people who do that. And ask them not to and to them you’re violating their “religious freedom”.

      • Skip Patterson August 7th, 2014 at 11:59 pm

Well what use to be the Christian fundamentalist evangelicals, has now become a Christofascist worldview of which they want to overthrow the American government.

    • tiredoftea August 7th, 2014 at 9:34 pm

True, except that there is an entire political party that uses Christianity to justify similarly hateful things. He’s just the most obvious and latest, sad example of how religion as a politicized concept is used to justify hatred.

      • Debbie Pineau August 8th, 2014 at 6:11 am

        Tell that to the muslims.

        • Hirightnow August 8th, 2014 at 8:03 am

This is a man who would swear up and down the Muslims are evil, for their hatred.
          So, so fail.

        • tiredoftea August 8th, 2014 at 11:57 am

          You’re a hateful little thing, aren’t you.

    • Jeff Baker August 7th, 2014 at 10:11 pm

      Well said!

    • Howard G Grant August 8th, 2014 at 9:10 am

Oh great! Just what the world needs. Another apologist to jump up and scream “Oh, he’s not one of us!” OH YES HE IS! He is no enemy of religion. He IS religion!

This man is what the religious of this country have become. The only difference is that he has the testicular fortitude to jump up and scream about the hatred he was indoctrinated to believe.

Your chickens are coming home to roost. The so-called religious of this country, (specifically the US) have been playing these religious games for centuries but now we have the Internet. You’re being exposed for the total frauds that you are. The faster we get rid of the religious vermin in this country, the better off we’ll be.

Now this guy will go home, pray and then claim that he’s forgiven. No apology will be made to the man he verbally assaulted. No restitution will be made to the community in the form of an apology. Nope. Everybody will pretend that he’s some great Christian. No, he’s a Christ-STAIN as are the other 99.999% of you phonies that go around using the Christian label so that you’re accepted by your peers.

      Hypocrites!

      • Elliot J. Stamler August 8th, 2014 at 10:41 am

Wow…an outright atheist nazi. Gonna “get rid of the religious vermin” are you, Howard//Adolf?

        • Howard G Grant August 8th, 2014 at 9:07 pm

Were you born stupid or did you have to work at it? Just take a dull butter knife and saw your head off. Do the world a favor.

      • Marjie61 August 8th, 2014 at 6:45 pm

        WELL SAID HOWARD!!!!

      • SkeeterVT August 17th, 2014 at 4:56 pm

I say he’s using religion to cover up his extreme insecurity about his own masculinity. I’m no psychologist, but I believe very strongly that homophobia is a male psychological disorder.

    • Wazzy August 8th, 2014 at 10:26 am

I know Satanists – and they don’t act like that – quite the opposite – so don’t insult Satanism – this guy is a Christian . . .

  19. sam russell August 7th, 2014 at 8:34 pm

Wow! Someone took a break long enough from Sarah Palin’s feed to spread the message.

  20. Skip Patterson August 7th, 2014 at 11:56 pm

Men like this have issues in the back of their mind which they have never fully brought to resolution. They are also likely to have been raised in a Christian fundamentalist home.

  21. Red Mann August 8th, 2014 at 12:36 am

There’s that, but I keep hoping that we’ll figure out what makes these people asshats and find a cure before they take the whole country and world down with them.

    • Rusty Shackleford August 8th, 2014 at 12:40 am

Who needs a cure? They have the right to be asshats. Just stop catering to them and they’ll learn to shut up about their asshattery. Meet disrespect with disrespect. Make it not worth the trouble for them to continue being asshats, as the pushback they’ll face for it is greater than the discomfort of shutting up.

      • Red Mann August 8th, 2014 at 12:48 am

From my experience with the trolls like the ones at MMfa, pushback has very little effect, it just convinced them they are really right and the push back is a sign they’re winning. Of course we have a huge media force, various religions and an entire political party supporting and feeding their asshattery. And, these asshats vote and they vote as their masters direct them to. They worry me because there’s so damn many of them and none of them seem to have any sense of shame nor any trace of ethical behavior.

        • Rusty Shackleford August 8th, 2014 at 1:07 am

You’re not pushing back hard enough then. You have to make being a deliberate asshat an unsustainable way of life. If you think calling out people on internet comment sections is enough, you’re not even trying.

If you must engage them online, don’t lend credence or legitimacy to their arguments by giving them serious responses. They should consider themselves lucky you even give them anything other than “Fuck off, asshat.” Don’t put effort into debunking or trying to convince entrenched asshats, just laugh at them. They want to piss you off, but nothing pisses them off quite like no one taking them seriously.

          • danah gaz August 10th, 2014 at 11:07 pm

And people wonder why so many of my comments are nothing but personal attacks.

People get the reply they deserve and nothing more.

  22. Debbie Pineau August 8th, 2014 at 6:10 am

If you believe in the bible and are to adhere to it, then what??

    • teloiv August 21st, 2014 at 9:01 pm

No problem with adhering to your religious book, as LONG as you adhere to all doctrines in the book. No picking or choosing. There are many edicts handed down by god that are – or should be – followed closely by his minions. Some people – even religious people – argue that many of god’s rules don’t apply in this day and age. This is because they do NOT want to follow the regulations that are a hindrance to them, yet they have no qualms about a reminding others about their responsibilities. Your god hates divorce (straight from the bible); however, it’s extremely rare to see Christians boycotting divorce lawyers and court houses to force the biblical rule against divorce. Hypocritical to say the least.

  23. Jeeler August 8th, 2014 at 1:33 pm

The Muricun Taliban. When will he leave his closet?

  24. SkeeterVT August 17th, 2014 at 4:49 pm

Another extremely insecure male — perhaps afraid of his own lavender shadow? I’m more convinced than ever that homophobia is a male psychological disorder. You almost never see that kind of visceral reaction by heterosexual women toward lesbians.
