David Barton made some jaw-dropping claims on “Wallbuilders Live” yesterday while offering a handy guide to voters who are concerned about whether their elected officials respect “natural law.”

Right Wing Watch notes, that he claims that if elected officials support abortion rights, then they will also take away your “property” and your “self-defense.”

Because obviously, a woman’s Feminazi’s right to choose is just one step away from seizing your guns and property, and that’s when we pounce into action.

“One of the easiest way to tell about natural law is to ask them where they are on abortion, because if they don’t respect the inalienable right to life, they do not respect any other inalienable right,” he said.

“If you don’t respect the right to life,” he added, “you won’t respect property, you won’t respect protecting income, you’ll think you ought to tax people more rather than protect their income, you’ll take it from them, you won’t protect their property, you won’t protect their religious liberties, you won’t protect their right of self-defense, you’ll try to take their self-defense away from them.”

Barton further suggested that even if the candidate is running for an office which has absolutely nothing to do with abortion policy, such as a school board, abortion should still be the litmus test. Because, freedom.

That’s not too surprising for a man who excels at revisionist history.

Now pardon me because my feminist group has a meeting with Obama’s Black Muslim Army. Priorities…

If the right-wing ever did actually win, I bet they would turn America into a theocracy and the first thing that would happen would be the Church taking away peoples guns and property. The RWNJ idiots really don’t get how they are being played. They really are the most easily manipulated, how can they not see themselves as pawns and dupes.

    • Anomaly 100 August 8th, 2014 at 12:55 pm

One of my first FON posts was about just that. Republicans (not all of them though) would love a theocracy and it’s working out swimmingly in Iraq right now. (see: ISIS)

The hypocrisy is strong with this one. It’s been a proven that the “pro-life” crowd do not respect others too much, if at all. Barton is the Anti-Christ who bears false witness. What a fine example he is of fundamental Christianity, just like the Westboro Baptist Church crowd and the Ku Klux Klan membership.

    • Dwendt44 August 8th, 2014 at 6:40 pm

In part because they aren’t ‘pro-life’, they are anti-abortion. Once a child is born the kid is on his own.

      • Bunya August 8th, 2014 at 7:42 pm

Actually, they are anti SAFE abortion. They don’t care if the fetus dies, as long as the mother dies with it. Many of these old time religions are very misogynistic.

I would never take away your gun, it lowers the chance of you shooting yourself.

  4. tiredoftea August 8th, 2014 at 12:59 pm

So, when we’re done with taking their stuff, how will we divide it up? And, BTW, who keeps telling these guys our plans?

    • Suzanne McFly August 8th, 2014 at 1:40 pm

You can have his guns but I want his porn mags

      • R.J. Carter August 8th, 2014 at 1:41 pm

I wouldn’t want them. They’re probably of a very precise and narrow niche that few would find appealing.

        • Suzanne McFly August 8th, 2014 at 1:42 pm

They are for fantasy, you can always improvise and make it your own 🙂

          • mmaynard119 August 8th, 2014 at 2:20 pm

It means that RJ would need both Dr. Zasio and Dr. Chabaud to come in to rid his hoarding of porn, empty cans of Mountain Dew and spent AK-47 shells.

          • R.J. Carter August 8th, 2014 at 3:17 pm

            Spent? 🙂

          • mmaynard119 August 8th, 2014 at 4:34 pm

Make that Dr. Zasio, Dr. Chabaud AND a SWAT team.

          • R.J. Carter August 8th, 2014 at 4:54 pm

            That’s better!

        • Eric Trommater August 8th, 2014 at 3:48 pm

What a great new slogan for the RNC!
The New GOP :”. . . a very precise and narrow niche that few would find appealing.”

      • uzza August 8th, 2014 at 3:25 pm

Why would you want a thousand copies of American Rifleman?

        • mmaynard119 August 8th, 2014 at 9:06 pm

For the pictures of Chuck Connors and Johnny Crawford?

    • Eric Trommater August 8th, 2014 at 3:55 pm

Maybe they have been reading my Facebook. Sorry about that.

  5. mmaynard119 August 8th, 2014 at 1:30 pm

How is it, that other than Alan and Ed Schultz, that only RWNJ have political radio talk shows?

Where is the A-100 and T2 talk show?

    • R.J. Carter August 8th, 2014 at 1:40 pm

Y’know, read with a certain inflection, it could be taken that Alan and Ed are also being described as nut jobs. 🙂

    • Um Cara August 8th, 2014 at 1:44 pm

We libs are too busy working during the day to listen to the radio

    • tiredoftea August 8th, 2014 at 7:02 pm

Pretty much for the same reason there isn’t a cat channel on TV.

  6. Bunya August 8th, 2014 at 1:43 pm

Sure. Because if they don’t respect the inalienable right to life, they do not respect the right to own and utilize a killing device. Paraise the Lawd.

  7. CosmoLupertazzi August 8th, 2014 at 2:16 pm

Seriously, these people, especially this crackpot David Barton, make it up as they go along. They live in a delusional world. Worse, they judge those whose throats they can’t shove this crap down. And WTF is this logic? “…if they don’t respect the inalienable right to life, they do not respect any other inalienable right.” They’re lucky we don’t round up lunatics and put them into re-education camps, which is all they deserve.

    • Dwendt44 August 8th, 2014 at 6:36 pm

They start by re-defining the meaning of words. ‘Natural Law’ is NOT christian theology writ large. It’s ‘natures way’; and no one is trying to go that way.

  8. Herb Sarge Phelps August 8th, 2014 at 2:32 pm

Isis would love this as would all the other terrorist groups. Guess “Christian Fanatics” are the next to start shooting anyone not “Christians”. Why can’t religions sell themselves for their attractive features instead of forcing their way on all people? I am glad I have rejected all religions and they are proving me right.

    • burqa August 8th, 2014 at 8:51 pm

Wherer I live, I’m around Christians all the time and they behave just as you’d wish, Mr. Phelps. If you’re ever around the Fredericksburg, Va. area, I’ll be glad to take you down to the homeless shelter or one of the food banks to meet some of them. These are really fine people, dedicated to helping the less fortunate. You’d be welcome to help out, if you wanted to.

  9. Eric Trommater August 8th, 2014 at 3:53 pm

The logic of leap of this arguement can illistrated by the fact that if your reverse the phease “right to life,” to read “right to privacy, the agrument makes the exact same amount of sense and can beused to predict the RWNJ’s plans if they gain power.
*edit: ‘logic of leap’ is a pun not a typo. Sadly I make so many typos I have to point that out.

  10. burqa August 8th, 2014 at 8:53 pm

I’d like someone to confront this guy with the Loving v. Virginia decision by the Supreme Court; specifically Section II where it lays out marriage as a right given to all. The language is pretty clear that this right would be considered a natural right and one given to all, not just heterosexuals.
Let him chew on that one and try to explain it away…

  11. burqa August 8th, 2014 at 8:54 pm

I GOT DIBS ON THEIR POWER TOOLS!

    at least the good ones.

  12. whatthe46 August 8th, 2014 at 10:01 pm

yet another reason why these people need an enema:

The National Rifle Association recently published a video on its web site promoting gun ownership and open carrying of weapons for persons who are blind. Not surprisingly, a lot of people did not think that the video was such a great plan.
In the 2-minute clip, Dom Raso – whose own mother is blind and apparently great with a gun by his own accounts – explained that in his opinion, just because you can’t see doesn’t mean you can’t shoot straight.

i think David Barton should be a target/test dummy to test out that theory and please record it. i’d pay to see that. better yet, get all those fools in one room, give granny the gun, tell Barton to shout out and lets see if she gets it right and shoots straight only at him. if all 9 bullets hit 9 different subjects, she got it right.

  13. Deirdre Hebert August 9th, 2014 at 7:46 pm

David Barton, and every single one of those right-wing wind-bags are embarrassments to the human species. They are solid evidence of a link between human beings and some less-evolved primate.
