Republican Indiana Secretary of State Connie Lawson has marked 696,000 registrations “inactive” as part of her efforts to clean up to the state’s rolls of voters, according to the Associated Press.

On Monday Lawson announced that a postcard drive was in place to identify invalid voter registrations in order to help restore “integrity” to the state’s voter rolls.

In the postcard, registered voters were asked to update their voting address by July 24th. If the postcards were returned as undeliverable or not returned by the due date, the registration was marked “inactive.”

If a resident tries to vote from the addresses marked “inactive” before Nov. 2016, their registration automatically becomes active again.

Over 750,000 postcards were mailed out in this round of mailings and 4.4 million postcards were mailed in the first round in May.

If Republicans work hard enough, they might catch more 97-year-old thugs trying to vote, as if it’s their right or something.

I can see this hitting a scale much higher of making eligible voters ineligible, like how those were made by Rick Scott in 2012.

      He’s gone, soon.
Fl is getting tired of excuses and last-minute attempts at re-branding.

Well that just shoots the hell out of Kobach’s 17,000 ineligible voters.

These damned repubs will do anything to interfere with democracy. In Ohio the two largest newspapers are trying to keep anyone from running against Governor John Kasich. If there are any journalists willing to help him prove this, go to http://www.ohiodailyblog.com and read all of DEREK K’s articles. He is asking for help. He’s one of those journalists we wish we had more of. If the Cleveland Plain Dealer and Columbus Dispatch are successful, Kasich will get a second term without ANYONE having to vote for him.

Restore-“integrity” is teabonics for ‘the GOP is loosing so bad. Even in Indiana!’

      I like that–“teabonics”.

      Female impersonator?

  7. Jake August 11th, 2014 at 9:51 pm

And let me guess – 695,999 of them are black or latino. Just saying’.

I think we need to charge Republicans with every crime imaginable, find them guilty, and lock them up, just so they can’t vote. Republicans do voter suppression their way, and I do voter suppression my own way. Turnabout is fair play after all.

So they can do their version of voter fraud … And make the tax payers pay for it … Funny how it’s all the tax payers !!!!!

one more reason to invalidate any Republican holding public office.

    • Republicans_are_Evil August 12th, 2014 at 6:44 am

An interesting choice of words, “invalidate”.

    Why do republicans hate America?

I live in Indiana and have not gotten one of these yet. What gives? Most people are just going to toss these in the trash along with the rest of the junk mail.
