After she stole the San Diego police car, she led cops on a 40-mile chase.

No one was hurt in the incident, which began shortly before midnight Friday.

Police say 22-year-old Felicitas Flores was booked into jail on counts including auto theft and drunk driving.

Police said she was able to steal the parked car because the keys were inside, and the officer who drove it was out of sight.

The pursuit began after motorists on Interstate 5 reported a police car driving erratically. Speeds reached as high as 90 mph.

Maybe the chase would still be going on, had Flores not pulled into a rest stop and rammed the car into that of an officer trying to arrest her.[su_sky_ad]

I wonder if she tried out the siren?

Man, that’d be one red-faced copper (who left keys in the unattended car), and I bet his fellow officers– not to mention his superiors– are giving him a well-deserved ration of shit about this.

On the other hand, it makes for a nice change. Seems like a day doesn’t go by in SoCal without another massed cop car chase of a fleeing suspect, covered exhaustively from the air by the ubiquitous local newscopters, so thanks for the new wrinkle, Felicitas!
