One person was critically shot and seven were arrested after the midnight curfew went into effect in Ferguson, MO.[su_center_ad]

Scores of demonstrators had remained in the streets after the curfew took effect at midnight (0500 GMT). Law enforcement officials used loudspeakers to warn protesters to disperse immediately. Officers, equipped with gas masks and full-length shields, stood among and on top of armored vehicles.

Missouri State Highway Patrol Captain Ron Johnson said the person shot at a restaurant was in critical condition. Police were unable to identify the victim, who he said was not shot by police, and that the alleged shooter was still at large.

Seven people were also arrested for failing to disperse after the curfew took effect…

The smoke and teargas canisters largely dispersed the crowd, some of whom had been chanting “No justice, no curfew, no peace”, while others implored the crowd not to move forward towards police. [su_sky_ad]

If the cops would stand down, address the murder of a black youth by one of their own and act like regular community policemen, rather than GI Joe want bees, this tense situation would end.
Ignorance, racism, stupidity = blatant incompetence at all levels of state governance at this juncture.

Okay. So, how about a night with zero police presence at all? Then nothing would happen all night.

Just regular patrols would do as long as they don’t continue to shoot unarmed kids and cause morecommunity backlash and feed the deliberate escalation like they have been doing.

Yeah, how about a night with no military presence at all?

does it has to be either or? How about the Governor address the issue and deal with the shooting. It might be the more productive thing since that IS what the protest are central to.

I dreamed I saw Mike Brown last night
    Alive as you and me.
Says I “But Mike, you’re five days dead”
    “I never died” says he
    “I never died” says he
“The fascist coppers killed you, Mike”
“They shot you Mike” says I.
“Takes more than guns to kill a man”
    Says Mike “I didn’t die”
    Says Mike “I didn’t die”
And standing there, as big as life
    And smiling with his eyes
Says Mike, “What they can never kill
    Went on to organize
    Went on to organize”
From San Diego up to Maine
    In every hood and town
Where working folks defend their rights
It’s there you find Mike Brown
It’s there you find Mike Brown
I dreamed I saw Mike Brown last night
    Alive as you and me
Says I “But Mike, you’re five days dead”
“I never died” says he, “I never died” says he
    “I never died” says he.
