“It’s outrageous, to be honest,” Jessica Andrews told Todd Starnes,  “It seems like the government is doing everything they can to take God out of everything.”

The item that caused her angst came from her daughter’s school. It was a copy of the Pledge of Allegiance. But the school’s version of the pledge was just a few words short – two to be exact.

“It didn’t have ‘under God’,” she said.

Jessica’s daughter is a fourth grader at Chukker Creek Elementary School. She said Aiken is a very religious community and they are a religious family. So you can imagine her surprise when she realized the school’s version of the pledge did not include a shout-out to the Almighty.

And by blaming “the government” it must be that because that Marxist Muslim in the White House hates God and America.

In this particular case, the omission was not the nefarious work of a godless educator. The principal said it was an honest-to-goodness mistake.

“This was a single mistake by a very embarrassed and apologetic teacher,” the principal told me in written correspondence.

“In order to assist her new students with our morning announcements, a teacher made copies of the pledge and national anthem for her class,” she told me. “She cut and pasted these from a website and in doing so, this line was omitted.”

Ah yes – the old “cut and paste” will get you every time.

“The teacher failed to proof the paper,” the principal wrote.

So, maybe that will calm down the hysteria about a teacher who made a mistake, and didn’t include “God” in a pledge that never had God in it to begin with and was written by the Christian socialist Francis Bellamy to spread his socialist ideals.[su_sky_ad]

People who whine about others “taking God out” of the schools, government, etc must have very weak faith. They seem to need others to validate their faith, even jf said others have different faiths or no faith.

    • Dwendt44 August 22nd, 2014 at 5:26 pm

They want, if not expect, the government to advocate and endorse their religion.

WTH Dwendt, you trying to destroy America?

The only way they can feel OK is if they think that everybody else believes in the supernatural as well. It’s really sick.

Some folks seem to enjoy stirring up trouble no matter how minor the slight. Had the teacher copied, and maybe she did just that, an older copy of the pledge like the one I first learned from, that may have been the ‘error; she made.
The ‘under god’ part was added in the 50’s during the McCarthy hysteria to prove that we were better than those Atheist Russians.

    • granpa.usthai August 22nd, 2014 at 7:00 pm

then HTF did the unpatriotic founding fathers (not the one we like) say the pledge?

Originally the pledge didn’t have the god horsepucky anyway.
I believe it was added around 1954 by religious nuts in government. In my opinion superstitious references to a magic man in the sky should be removed anyway.

    • granpa.usthai August 22nd, 2014 at 6:58 pm

that’s because you hate god, the usa and want godly americans to spill their drinks and have bad luck at the roulette table and cause them to be late for sunday school. –

Hate is not what I feel at all and it sure isn’t directed at any particular god, be it Thor, Zeus, God, Allah, Jehovah, Buddha, Jesus, Jah, Yahweh or Ra. Historically, all religions have been created by man to control and extort the masses.
And don’t get me started on religion’s management by guilt, their violence, their child recruitment, their child molestation and their massacres through relentless wars over thousands of years.
Maybe you should consult a talking snake or burning bush because I don’t hate, I just observe in amazement at those fools who still follow bronze age fables and superstition in the year 2014.

        • Dwendt44 August 23rd, 2014 at 12:38 am

Religion is big business and a lucrative profit center.

    • M D Reese August 22nd, 2014 at 7:06 pm

I agree. Our motto should be changed back to its original form as well–E Pluribus Unum. “In god we trust” is unconstitutional and meaningless.

but the two words ‘under god’ was put there by a POTUS who illegally acted like he was the commander in chief of ALL the united states armed forces.

  5. Carla Akins August 22nd, 2014 at 5:32 pm

Good grief, not everything is a conspiracy.

    • R.J. Carter August 22nd, 2014 at 5:40 pm

That’s just what a conspirator would say.

      • granpa.usthai August 22nd, 2014 at 6:39 pm

especially when they’re trying to hide something by trying to redirect your focus on a bogus conspiracy. I’m not buying it though, nobody would make a comment like that without trying to hide an ongoing conspiracy.

      • neworleans878 August 22nd, 2014 at 6:51 pm

The very fact that we can’t find a conspiracy leads the fact that there’s a conspiracy!

    • granpa.usthai August 22nd, 2014 at 6:36 pm

just what is it you’re trying to cover up with that quasi conspiratorial remark?

    • M D Reese August 22nd, 2014 at 7:03 pm

Sure–that’s what THEY would like us to believe!

  6. neworleans878 August 22nd, 2014 at 5:35 pm

Don’t know how we survived as a nation prior to 1954 when the words “Under God” were added to the pledge.

As for myself, I sincerely hope that the unintentional error by the teacher doesn’t become a trend…I don’t want my water turning into blood or frogs in my bedroom.

ps…the picture above made me curious. From Wikipedia:

“The Bellamy salute is the salute described by Francis Bellamy, Christian socialist minister and author, to accompany the American Pledge of Allegiance, which he had authored. During the period when it was used with the Pledge of Allegiance, it was sometimes known as the “flag salute”. During the 1920s and 1930s, Italian fascists and Nazis adopted a salute which had the same form, resulting in controversy over the use of the Bellamy salute in the United States. It was officially replaced by the hand-over-heart salute when Congress amended the Flag Code on December 22, 1942.”

survival is based on hitting the right numbers at the right time.

luck is if you hit the numbers in this lifetime.

  7. granpa.usthai August 22nd, 2014 at 6:31 pm

well hell, according to the loudmouth Sgt. Major Reich Runt, it was illegally placed there by the illegal POTUS Eisenhower anyway, so WTF does it matter?

  8. Dwendt44 August 22nd, 2014 at 6:33 pm

    This one’s the best.

    • neworleans878 August 22nd, 2014 at 6:50 pm

Clearly a Godless heathen! No “Under God” in that pledge!

  9. M D Reese August 22nd, 2014 at 7:01 pm

I learned the Pledge before the words “under god” were added back in the cold war days. The words were added by the anti-commie christian zealots of the time.
I still say the Pledge today as it was originally written, without those two little ugly words. Ironically, those two words negate the words on either side of them which are “one nation” and “indivisible”–for nothing will tear a civilization apart like that ole time religion will.

  10. Marcia Everett August 22nd, 2014 at 7:16 pm

I pledge allegiance to the CONSTITUTION, of the United states of America, and to the republic AS LONG AS it stands for one nation under THE LAW, indivisible in PURSUING liberty and justice for all. Learn it, say it, join the revolution

    • KABoink_after_wingnut_hacker August 22nd, 2014 at 9:38 pm

      Perfect, love it!
Now if wingnuts only knew the actual constitution.

Must have used a copy of the pledge from before 1952

Is that Miss Gulch? Don’t let her take my little dog, please!

  13. fahvel August 23rd, 2014 at 2:52 am

I remember how upset my parents were when they added the god crap to the pledge.

  14. Dave Lanson August 24th, 2014 at 5:45 pm

The teacher could say she was using the pledge as a device to teach history. The version was a pre-1954 pledge that hadn’t yet been marred by dogmatic terroriam.
