Cop Who Shot Michael Brown Began Career At Racist, Disbanded PD
I have little doubt that this news will help the campaign to raise money for officer Darren Wilson’s defense from bigots and rubes. Frankly, we are not one bit surprised.
The Ferguson police officer who shot unarmed teen Michael Brown had worked at a department that was disbanded by authorities over racial tensions, the Washington Post reports.

Darren Wilson and the other officers at the Jennings, Missouri, police department lost their jobs three years ago. Wilson was a rookie cop at the time.
The newspaper described the old Jennings Police Department as “a mainly white department mired in controversy and notorious for its fraught relationship with residents, especially the African American majority… not an ideal place to learn how to police.”
The city council deemed tensions between officers and black residents so bad that it was necessary to fire everyone and build a new, more credible department from scratch.
Some officers from the disgraced department reapplied for their jobs. Wilson got a job in Ferguson, where he kept a clean disciplinary record and even earned a commendation. But that was all before the events that transpired earlier this month.

I can’t site the source but FPD had a way of filing reports of misconduct that hid any information that would be detrimental to an officers character.

His claim of Brown being shot at while his back was turned is well established by 4 other witnesses, whether he was actually hit is a matter of speculation. And there is evidence that can support this from the autopsy report of a wound to his right arm…..oops

I have some of those as well. It used to creep me out but as it turns out only two of them ever said anything again. Essentially if I commented on another site like Political Carnival he may comment on something I said. In the 1st case it lasted a day, the other a week. I simply did not reply to them and they went away. Regardless, as Mark said, let us know if you have problems.

Stalkers can make discussion difficult, as I know from personal experience. One can go private, as Mark suggests. The problem with this is that people you actually want to talk to can’t see your replies unless they revisit the original site.
So far, I’ve been able to deal with my stalker fairly successfully by ignoring him. If the person is engaging in spam, they will eventually be banned by the site itself, so you should eventually have a site by site elimination of the harassment.
Make a feature request to Disqus to selectively block followers! If enough people ask, they may get around to coding it.

I am very worried about this shooting in Ferguson. I am waiting to hear all the evidence before I make my final decision as to what happened. I have heard everything that has been said on both sides. No matter what the outcome is. So many things were done so wrong in all aspects of this tragedy. Mostly by the Ferguson Police Dept. In excusable things.. But, as Liberal as I am. If Micheal Brown did assault The Officer.. And thats a BIG if.. I can see a scared officer firing till his gun was empty because he was scared out of his wits. People have to understand. If I was assaulted and got hit in the eye. And was scared shitless, I would empty my gun into or in the direction of the threat. And think of other things later.. But that is the only acceptable reason for firing so many rounds. I hope people truly put themselves in that spot and question them selves of what they would do . I hope everybody can accept the final evidence if and when it finally comes all out.. I seriously think at the very least, The officer used way excessive force even in the best version. But I am waiting to hear everything. Lets just hope they get to it fast so the healing can begin..

You have to understand that this is what officers train for, not just once but repetitively. It is also the reason why many people don’t choose to be police for they know that when faced w/such a situation they wont commit the same actions that Wilson did.

If the Grand Jury decides not to indict, if there are no charges, if there is no trial; if the Grand Jury which acts in secrecy does not release the reasoning for its decisions, than what all you recommended “waiting to hear everything” will be for not. This cannot end with a “trust us, believe us; there will be no explanation for our decision just accept our decision. The prosecutor is not trusted by the community, and neither is the Grand Jury- a Grand Jury decision that does not lead to a trial will be Incendiary. The only solution is a Special Prosecutor be announced prior any decision being made by the Grand Jury, that will facilitate what ever decision is made and has the Federal power to reexamine the finding if they are questionable to any of the sides involved..

I can’t find anything to believe this was anything but murder. The facts are too heavy that it was. The eye witnesses all say Brown was pulled into the car, was fighting to get away, he ran away after getting free with the cop getting out firing his gun. I was trained in Law Enforcement in the Air Force and if I had had such a situation in my time as a Security Police I would have been in deep, deep trouble.
He might not have been hit in the eye by Brown. The gun went off in the car, and he could have been hit by his gun in such a space. As for being scared, that is not valid because anytime you face life or death (and I have been there), you are scared but your training kicks in and you use your brain. I was facing the Badder Meinhoff terrorist in Germany, they had their guns on us, we had ours ready to shoot them as they climbed the fence. They got on top but until they got on our side we had to not shoot, and it was scary, but none of us fired. They saw we would kill all of them and while they might kill a couple of us, we would kill all of them, so they jumped back on the German side. If we had “been scared and shot” then we would have been in big time trouble.

1. Guilt by association, and desperate.

I grew up in some rough neighborhoods when I was young. I did some things I’m not proud of.. I could easily been labeled as a “punk” among other things. In an attempt to get on a different path, I joined the Military at 17. After that I used my benefits to go to College, I got married, bought a house raised a Son..hoping to have a Grand-kid before too long… I sure am glad no one shot me to death for J-walking before I had a chance to straighten out my life… Maybe… Mr. Brown wasn’t an Angel…I can’t say, and neither can you. BUT one thing for sure he didn’t deserve to die that day,and be left there for hours for ALL to gawk at.

He didn’t apply or his old job because he knew he was a problem cop and wouldn’t be rehired. He has a clean record at Ferguson because records haven’t been kept there until very recently. Any bad reports he’s had at Ferguson would have never been recorded. It’s all out there if you care to look for it.
