Open Carry activists are planning a protest at a Whole Foods store on August 30th after finding a sign outside one of the stores which states that firearms are prohibited. The chain store has had a gun ban in place for quite  awhile now so the news has taken awhile to sink into the gun humpers’ heads.

A Texas man — an Open Carry Texas member — John Greer, has planned an armed protest at a local Whole Foods grocery store this Saturday, because signs. Gun fetishists attempted a boycott over the store prohibiting firearms in 2013.

Even though the store specifically requests that no firearms be brought on their property (can you say Free Market?), Greer has asked the 40 men and women scheduled to attend to bring long rifles, concealed handguns and black powder pistols to protest the company’s policy.

On the event page in the comments, Greer writes, “I know it will be warm but we will have lots of bottled water “from Kroger!” And shade! We will have some signage for those that don’t have any. Long guns and concealed and black powder are always welcome and encouraged. Just show up in support for our Second Amendment!”

The event page states, “Whole Foods recently as of Yesterday started placing 30.06 Signs in their doorways telling gun owners that you are not welcome unless you leave your peace of mind in the car or at home! We must show them the sheer mass of people that do not want gun free zones in our neighborhoods or else we will start shopping elsewhere like Kroger that welcomes law abiding gun owners and who’s organic section and specialty foods sections is growing and starting to eat into Whole Foods customer base!”

Greer loves exclamation marks!!!!

This is John Greer!

Greer went on to encourage one of the commenters who posted an image of a little girl holding a rifle to bring that weapon to the protest, too. Jack Hunter was taking the piss out of the group, but Greer thought he was serious.

Open Carry activists Brett Sanders and Jason Orsek have also indicated that they will attend.

Sanders is the Open Carry Texas member who decided to publish the home phone number of a Plano woman who called her local police department after seeing men with rifles walking on an overpass.

They’ve invited 3,000 people, and 40 are reportedly going to protest the policy which has been in place since at least last year, because derp.

Speaking of Kroger, be sure to speak up and support Moms Demand Action.

My money is on the Moms. The gun masterbaters are just catching up with last year’s news.[su_sky_ad]http://youtu.be/UWH578nAasM[/su_sky_ad]

That looks like a TABC sign furnished by the state that is required to be posted where alcoholic beverages are sold. You don’t have to post it on the front door like that, it is at the option of the store where to post it, within the TABC guidelines. Interesting that the gunhumpers are protesting something that is required by law at a grocery store. They really should take it up with their state representatives. Protesting a store following the law seems really dumb to me.

    • MIAtheistGal August 29th, 2014 at 4:49 pm

Even if that wasn’t the law, don’t the open carry folks respect the business owners enough to comply with their wishes?

      • fahvel August 29th, 2014 at 5:15 pm

the scum respect nothing – not even they arms they so proudly brandish. No self respecting gun would voluntarily wander around with those fools.

    • raincheck August 29th, 2014 at 5:03 pm

I couldn’t read the sign very well… but doesn’t it mention just “concealed” weapons?
I was thinking about going down to the Boardwalk and get myself a lemonade “TIME TO LOCK AND LOAD!!” …. This is a really underdeveloped way of thinking…

      • mea_mark August 29th, 2014 at 5:42 pm

That is one of the things that makes me think it is a TABC sign, that and the font. No guns at all are permitted where alcohol is sold in Texas. I think that sign is supposed to be a reminder to those concealing and carrying because if the weapon is concealed the store employees can’t remind the gun carrier to leave, since they don’t know.

@Author: You said in the article: “posted an image of a little girl holding an Uzi”. I need to correct you on the type of firearm. That looks to be a Barrett Model 82A1 that is chambered for .50 BMG ammunition (https://www.barrett.net/firearms/model82a1), but I could be wrong on the manufacturer. It is definitely not an Uzi (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uzi).

      Thank you Lance!

looks like proof that the kid’s father should be locked in a scorpion den and ignored.

      Yep–that’s a Barrett Light-Fifty.
Made here in the Good Old U.S.A.–at the request of the mujahadeen.
In Afghani culture, markmanship skills (especially sniping) are highy revered.
They requested a rifle that would allow them to engage in long-range sniping.
The Barrett folks came up with the rifle pictured, and the Afghanis (as well as the U.S. Armed Forces) came to rely on it for long-range sniping work.

With a group of armed protesters showing up the level of Police response or lack thereof should be interesting…looking at you Ferguson.

  4. Maxx44 August 29th, 2014 at 4:26 pm

    Greer loves exclamation marks!!!!

That could be, but he doesn’t seem to care much for proper grammar.

John Greer Does it All For You: my guns protect your ignorance

    Well, thank you!

Now let’s see ’em proofread your ad copy.

    • tiredoftea August 29th, 2014 at 6:40 pm

The message really is “My guns prove my ignorance”

  6. M D Reese August 29th, 2014 at 6:27 pm

More and more I’ve been ordering everyday things by mail–even non-perishable groceries. Where I live, it’s often cheaper, and there’s the added benefit of not having to wonder if today’s the day some ammosexual’s gun “goes off” and shoots me dead in the condiment aisle…

  7. tiredoftea August 29th, 2014 at 6:38 pm

Yes, when you’re not wanted at a place, be sure to show up armed so they’ll learn to like you!

  8. austinandjusin August 30th, 2014 at 6:58 pm

If the NRA is serious about open carry laws why aren’t they protesting the death of John Crawford? He was killed in Ohio, an open carry state, holding a toy gun in Wal-Mart. What reason could it be they aren’t protesting his right to carry a (toy) gun?

  9. ArmedAmerican June 19th, 2015 at 4:54 pm

Why doesnt your idiot ass come up with something that ISNT asinine, Brady …

  10. ArmedAmerican June 19th, 2015 at 4:55 pm

Better than some wimp girlie hoplophobic cry baby like you….

  11. ArmedAmerican June 19th, 2015 at 4:56 pm

Because, as we all know, without proper grammar idiots like yourself cant figure the POINT out.

  12. ArmedAmerican June 19th, 2015 at 4:58 pm

Its ironic that the same crying ass wimp Brady cowards who dont like guns will be the FIRST ones to dial 911 from their fetal position under a table when some nut comes in shooting so ARMED cops came come save their sorry asses.

  13. ArmedAmerican June 19th, 2015 at 5:00 pm

    Drop dead Brady scum.
Ive seen you anti gun filth PROTESTING businesses yourself…so youre going to have to deal with US protesting too.
If you dont like it move your sorry ass to some country where guns dont exist. Protesting is a RIGHT of ALL Americans, maggot….not just the ones YOU agree with.

    • OldLefty June 19th, 2015 at 5:18 pm

      Little over compensation, there, huh?

      • ArmedAmerican June 19th, 2015 at 5:54 pm

Thinking about gun owners dicks again, perv?
You think about us while youre soaping up in the shower, dont you…

        • OldLefty June 19th, 2015 at 7:34 pm

Thou dost project too much, Methinks.
You’re the one who needs the “gun”.

    • Carla Akins June 19th, 2015 at 8:43 pm

You do know that you’re comment on a year old story, right? I’m not a fan of threats, keep it up and you’ll be done here.

    • fahvel June 20th, 2015 at 2:47 am

read all of your great comments and have come to a conclusion – you are, in the most simple way, a disease that even self respecting gun owners would treat with antiseptic hand cleaner – it’s your american way to dispell the ugly and the psychotic. You see fine sir, that each of your utterances dropped you lower and lower on the right to breath scale so now there’s no air left for you to waste – ahha, and without being gentle, do the cul trick with you tin penis svp.

  14. ArmedAmerican June 19th, 2015 at 5:01 pm

PROTESTING isnt against the law, dope. Deal with it.

  15. OldLefty June 19th, 2015 at 5:22 pm

You gotta love these ammo sexuals with their little phallic toys.

This is why we are a very silly country in very serious times.
