The woman involved is suing the Montgomery County, Ohio jail for the way she was treated.

Emily Evans was arrested in late March for operating a vehicle impaired, but she reportedly did not cooperate during the arrest and the booking process, according to 2 NEWS. At the time, her blood alcohol level was about double the legal limit.
Evans claims that police used excessive force while trying to restrain her, though police say that the force used was appropriate. Officers handcuffed her because she was both verbally and physically aggressive.
“Emily was knocked out. She was completely unconscious, unresponsive, bleeding from the nose,” said Mike Bly, Evans’ attorney. “When you don’t obey the law you pay the consequences. Those consequences don’t include being subjected to unreasonable excessive force, and that’s exactly what happened to Emily.”[su_sky_ad]

Who won’t cops knock around? Haven’ t we had enough, yet, of overactive and aggressive police?

Yea, I mean, because that lone woman was such a threat to 5 roid raging police officers in a small room. Those cops must have really feared for their lives. /s

On the bright side, their wives must have been relieved that their husbands got paid for taking out their frustration during working hours.

Many aspects of our society has undergone changes in what I think is for the worse. This is one aspect of that.
Many cops now became cops because of wrong reasons(bullied in school, power longing, etc) as well as tactics(military style/equipment) used. One big aspect are many cops really don’t know their fellow citizens(no more walking beats, hanging out/talking at plazas & coffee shops, etc). With handcuffs on, a night stick between the arms and they would have had complete control… no bruising, no harm, no bloody face.
My view.

Yes, community policing is a much better strategy for calmer neighborhoods. Military style policing is turning our neighborhoods into occupied territories.

Hummmm….Guess this should be added to the list of just another hazard to drinking and driving? Maybe make a good commercial?

Finds it funny though that no matter who reads this story will be the first to call the Police because someone they don’t know is on their lawn.
jsoltis August 30th, 2014 at 8:47 am
I suppose your “PunkAss” would just shoot them for being on your lawn!
I count 5 officers and 1 drunk woman. How many officers does it take to control a drunk and unarmed woman?

there have been people who call the police to help only to find in the end, they cause more problems by killing the very people they were there to assist. calling the cops today is a crap shoot. you might get a good cop or you might get a bad cop. 50/50

even if it isn’t, she didn’t deserve that. they could have left her in the room to rant and rave all night long. she would have tired out at some point. if they can’t take people being annoying, then they are in the wrong profession.

That’s a 6 game suspension in the NFL now.

Our police have turned into wusses! The average man should be able to handcuff a woman without knocking her out! I don’t care how inebriated she was, two men couldn’t handcuff one woman without knocking her out? Is she Wonder Woman or what?
crc3 August 30th, 2014 at 10:37 am
The cops went way beyond what they should have done. Five against one and she was handcuffed. Cops seem to love to abuse people once they are handcuffed. This has got to stop!
