At Florida’s ‘Shoot Straight’ Gun Range, Man Accidentally Shoots Himself And A Friend
A man ended up shooting himself and his friend at the “Shoot Straight” gun range in Florida when he tried to unjam a 9mm semi-automatic, according to the police. “One of them, I guess, thought he could teach the other he could shoot,” Sgt Mark Stein said.
The man acting as an instructor tried to unjam the 9mm Smith & Wesson, which was owned by someone else at the range, Stein said, when he inadvertently pulled the trigger.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, the men were at the Shoot Straight gun range in Casselberry, Fla. One of them tried to unjam the handgun but accidentally pulled the trigger, shooting himself in the finger, police told the paper. The bullet went through his friend’s thigh and ended up in a nearby wall, police said.
Both men were expected to recover, Sgt. Mark Stein told the newspaper. They were taken to the hospital, Stein said. Neither of their names were released.
A witness quoted by the Sentinel called it “just a case of stupidity.”
“He shot himself in his own finger,” Stein said. The bullet then went through his friend’s thigh and embedded itself in a wall.[su_sky_ad]

there are no laws to protect the American people from stupid; it’s up to each of us to use common sense. Any business that allows US to be in harms way of stupid doesn’t need to be opened to the general public.

I wonder if the gun was really jammed. The idiots probably had the safety on and didn’t realize it and when they went to unjamm the gun that wasn’t jammed turned the safety off to unjamm it and shot themselves.

One thing is for sure, these guys were probably not killing time at the range because they were laid off from NASA after the shuttle program closed.
