[su_right_ad]A group called “American Decency” says thousands of Christians will demonstrate Sunday to protest the Dallas Cowboys because they hired the fist openly gay NFL player, Michael Sam. This appears to be a scam run by Jack Berkman, a Republican operative who had a DC Madam problem a few years ago.

Berkman’s own brother, who is gay, said Berkman is a fraud who is trying to build business for his lobbying firm when Berkman was pushing legislation to ban gays from playing in the NFL.

Berkman’s claims about the success of his group are suspicious.

Burkman claims his group has 3.62 million members in 41 states, including 933,912 people in Texas. His website boasts: “Of 3.62 million nationally, 2.21 million are ready to protest or do whatever they are asked to do.” His website-linked Facebook page, however, has only 135 followers.

Yeah, nothing like fringe right religious dog whistles to raise money from the gullible!

3.62 million members nationwide but only 135 followers on FB, damn must be a long wait getting on-line.

See that conservatives, the country is changing and it’s not leaning in your direction, and Dallas hiring the gay player proves it!

More than 10 or less than 5?

I wonder how many other players cut at training camp had the NFL call teams and ask them to “consider” that player for their practice squad? The best way to have equality in the NFL is for gay players to succeed on their merits (the ones who already have but weren’t “out” and those to come). Peter King and Tony Dungy aren’t exactly fringe contributors to the debate.

He had to join the Cowboys. There simply weren’t any other viable choices. The Redskins lost their mascot, and there are no teams represented by motorcycle cops or construction workers.

So he was able to sucker thousands of Christians into protesting for his cause by invoking God’s will. Now, I hate to single these folks out, but Christians sure are a gullible lot.
“Hey Christians! God needs your cash to finance his son’s “second coming”. He’s requesting you send all you can, every last dime, to Bunya. DO IT NOW! TIMES ‘A ‘WASTIN’! The sooner Bunya receives your donation (sorry, not tax deductible), the sooner the rapture will arrive! Don’t be left behind! Reserve your place on heaven’s escalator NOW – before it’s too late!”
