[su_right_ad]Wayne LaPierre says he wants to reach people who believe “America is off the rails,” and so the National Rifle Association’s message has gone way beyond gun issues.

The gun lobby’s campaign, launched in the last 10 days, uncharacteristically delves into issues far beyond the Second Amendment to explore the IRS scandal, media elitism and security vulnerabilities, with a call to return “good guys” to power.

“This campaign is a gathering of shared values that gives a sense of right and wrong,” NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre told The Washington Times in an interview. The collection of issues the ads confront are representative of the conversations Mr. LaPierre said he has had throughout the country with NRA members and concerned citizens.

Now, there’s a representative group: NRA members, who already agree with LaPierre on almost everything, and “concerned citizens” who are “concerned” because they don’t like the direction the country is going. Uh, that would be NRA members and people who already agree with Wayne LaPierre. Soon, we’ll be hearing from the NRA on taxes, gay rights, abortion and Benghazi.

“Soon, we’ll be hearing from the NRA on taxes, gay rights, abortion and Benghazi.” What’s the over/under on good guys with guns being an integral part of their plan for “world domination” in place of democracy?

A draft dodging mental case tells us the country is ‘off the rails’?
The NRA is a terrorist organization.

Sounds like some kind of a fascist country they have in mind…

No, just like Iran or ISIS only a christian theocracy.

Time to put in plain English, what the 2nd Amendments says. Also, time to review the data on gun related deaths and incidents. Have to review and possibly rewrite new gun sense laws. The NRA doesn’t seem to have good sense.

time to make lapierre (change his name of course) but accept responsibility for all gun incidents and accidents at a % to be determined by the victims or families of victims of insane gun use in the usa.

So with recent national polls showing that only 25% if the country thinks we are on the right path, you are saying that the NRA saying we aren’t on the right path makes them a GOP mouthpiece? Sounds to me like they are pretty mainstream.

    • MIAtheistGal September 5th, 2014 at 6:38 am

It’s not the raw percentage of poeple who think the country is on the wrong track that matters. It’s the reasons why people think we’re on the wrong track.

      • Larry Schmitt September 5th, 2014 at 7:07 am

And what they think should be done to correct it.

    • dave-dr-gonzo September 5th, 2014 at 9:58 am

No. A surprisingly large portion of that 75% who think the nation is on the wrong track support gun control. Nice try, though. And you might want to change your avatar; Bender is an impulsive, narcissistic tool — quite literally, when I say “tool”.

The NRA is under the mistaken impression that just because you own a gun, you support their sick agenda. What used to be a sportsman alliance steeped in tradition and dignity, is now just a cadre of gun lobbyists led by crooks, liars and misfits. One only needs to look at their board members to see that.
People need to understand that the NRA dose not speak for the GOP. That became clear nearly two decades ago. http://www.nytimes.com/1995/05/11/us/letter-of-resignation-sent-by-bush-to-rifle-association.html

Wayne LaPew is a draft dodging mental case, Teddy boy Nugent is a draft dodging pedophile. Nice company they keep.

Translation: “We at the NRA are looking for innovative new ways to scare gullible folks and prompt them to buy more guns.”

    • bhil September 6th, 2014 at 3:29 pm

Most likely the reason but how do you buy “more guns” when there are no jobs or the jobs that are there don’t pay enough, you know guns and butter sort of thing.

Maybe he wants to run for President in 2016. Rather than a chicken in every pot, it will be an Gun in every Christmas stocking.
