The White House issued a statement on Ray Rice.

“The President is the father of two daughters. And like any American, he believes that domestic violence is contemptible and unacceptable in a civilized society,” White House spokesman Josh Earnest said in a statement.

“Hitting a woman is not something a real man does, and that’s true whether or not an act of violence happens in the public eye, or, far too often, behind closed doors,” the White House statement added, saying that stopping domestic violence “is something that’s bigger than football.”[su_csky_ad]

This entire incident could have been prevented if Mrs. Rice had received an intervention from Mrs. Olsen.

He will continue to abuse her until he kills her.

Except real men do hit women. All the time. They’re not imaginary men or robots or something. Ray Rice is really a real man, and really a real abuser.

Stop playing “no true Scotsman” and trying to distance yourself and acknowledge that you are a member of the same group as the real men who are doing this. Stop appealing to fragile masculinity and the egos of would-be abusers and acknowledge the fucking problem.
