Right-wing hero Ben Carson says evolution is a myth created by those who don’t give enough credit to God. He says humans are arrogant and think “that they are so smart that if they can’t explain how God did something, then it didn’t happen, which of course means that they’re God. You don’t need a God if you consider yourself capable of explaining everything.”

[su_center_ad]

He claimed that “no one has the knowledge” of the age of the earth “based on the Bible,” adding that “carbon dating and all of these things really don’t mean anything to a God who has the ability to create anything at any point in time.”

Carson pointed to the “complexity of the human brain” as proof that evolution is a myth: “Somebody says that came from a slime pit full of promiscuous biochemicals? I don’t think so.”

He said evolution is unable to explain the development of an eyeball: “Give me a break. According to their scheme, it had to occur over night, it had to be there. I instead say, if you have an intelligent creator, what he does is give his creatures the ability to adapt to the environment so he doesn’t have to start over every fifty years creating all over again.”

How was this guy a freakin’ neurosurgeon?

    • granpa.usthai September 10th, 2014 at 6:11 pm

easy. You take a little real expensive knife made in China that’s very sharp and give it a medical name. Then you insert it into the patients flesh and start moving it around real careful like. When you hit a nerve, a buzzer goes off and the patient’s nose starts flashing red.

      • granpa.usthai September 10th, 2014 at 6:14 pm

might want to check with Shades on the medical procedures first, I’m just remembering how it was when my kids were growing up.

  2. juicyfruityyy September 10th, 2014 at 2:12 pm

I wonder how Carson passed his required classes to be a doctor? Like, physics, biology?, etc.

    • edmeyer_able September 10th, 2014 at 2:17 pm

      Divine Intervention?

    • granpa.usthai September 10th, 2014 at 5:30 pm

he either lied, copied from someone else or divinely promoted through an affirmative type act.

he’s got to be related to bush.

  3. Obewon September 10th, 2014 at 2:25 pm

Only a delusional fool claims “no one has the knowledge” of the age of our 4.51 billion year old earth Vs creationists 4,004 B.C. fantasy “based on the Bible” that also claims our 13.8 billion year old universe is a laughable 6,000 years old too!

    Next-up “Imagine there’s no (NASA) It’s easy if you try…” http://map.gsfc.nasa.gov/

    • granpa.usthai September 10th, 2014 at 5:50 pm

4,004BC does put a little pre Jesus RUSH on things, but, if nobody is still around that actually saw it, who can say for sure what took place? After the BURNING down of the Alexandria Library, most sorta WHITE account books were destroyed. We certainly wouldn’t want to take any non Euro-WHITE documents that have actual accounts listed/dated back up to 54,000 years, would we? It’s so evident that the OTHER peoples of lesser skin colors ALL used the abacus incorrectly and their accounts only go back 5,400 years! – even when giving a numerical counting!!!

    • burqa September 12th, 2014 at 11:00 pm

As I just posted above, when I was in school we were taught the earth was 3 billion years old. You’re giving a 4.51 billion figure, and I am sure that number comes from sources as authoritative as those who once said 3. In recent years I have read or heard figures as high as 8 billion from respected scientists.

Some who read the Bible believe the 6,000 year number put forth, and others do not.
Genesis 1:1 says in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Genesis 1:2 says the earth came to be without form and void.
Nowhere in the Bible is the time span for those events given. The big bang, dinosaurs and everything else in prehistory can be fitted in there.

      • Obewon September 12th, 2014 at 11:17 pm

There is exactly 00.00% factual evidence of either a 4004 BCE Earth or universal age. As this Texas educated science teacher explains in great detail “The Earth is 4.54 billion years old; 3.8 billion years ago, the very first life formcame into existence; 225 million years ago, dinosaurs came on the scene; and man took his first steps in Africa 200,000 years ago. How do we know this to be true? Science!” http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/05/22/carbon-dating-science-history-dinosaurs-human_n_1536274.html

I learned a word. This dimwit is a “hoople”. How do you all tolerate this kind of simple minded insanity?

    • EnuffBull September 10th, 2014 at 3:03 pm

Then you will love the series DEADWOOD. “Hoople head” is thrown around as an insult and interpreted as bad as any curse word (from a series that measured how many f-words were said per minute).

  5. neworleans878 September 10th, 2014 at 2:43 pm

I knew it! I just knew it!!! All those fossils laying around are God’s little joke to test our faith!

ps…”promiscuous biochemicals?” thanx for the laugh, ben,

    • granpa.usthai September 10th, 2014 at 6:02 pm

all those fossils laying about are the bones of the little dragonettes that were cast out of heaven with the great dragon! Yep! you heard it @ LL first folks. A reasonable made up explanation for fossils from one who is fully qualified by scriptures to be a PROPHET OF GOD.

    • whatthe46 September 10th, 2014 at 10:59 pm

      and the cave men?

  6. Roctuna September 10th, 2014 at 2:56 pm

Maybe no one he knows has knowledge of the age of the earth, but people I know do, ditto for the evolution of the eye. Just because he doesn’t have personal knowledge or understanding doesn’t invalidate the theory. It’s disgusting how a supposedly educated man could spout this nonsense for political power and money.

    • jasperjava September 10th, 2014 at 7:17 pm

Rep. Paul Broun (R-GA) once told an audience of drooling inbreds that “evolution and the Big Bang are lies from the pits of hell”.

He’s a doctor, on the House Science and Technology Committee.

I can’t believe that he actually believes that. I don’t know how you can be a medical doctor or scientist and truly believe that. It’s astonishing to me that people can spout such blatant nonsense just to impress the ignorant.

    • burqa September 12th, 2014 at 10:52 pm

Back when I was in school, if a test asked how old the earth was, the correct answer was 3 billion years. Today that would be an incorrect answer. Knowing the age of the earth not only depends on who you ask, but when you ask them because it keeps changing.

      • Roctuna September 13th, 2014 at 11:25 am

True, but that’s the advancement of knowledge as new measurements are made. You notice it’s not getting any younger. It’s been steady at 4.5-4.6 billion for quite a while now.

  7. tiredoftea September 10th, 2014 at 3:17 pm

Ben Carson is living proof that there is no “intelligent creator”!

    • Suzanne McFly September 10th, 2014 at 3:41 pm

I prefer to believe this is proof God takes vacations and her angels are jokers.

      • tiredoftea September 10th, 2014 at 4:26 pm

        You can go with that.

      • granpa.usthai September 10th, 2014 at 6:47 pm

took a while before I caught the ‘her’. Until the WHITE AMERICAN MAN version of Scriptures is released with the no longer needed book of Ecclesiastes, You are as scriptural correct as those who insist that he’s a ‘he’. Or, currently, you could go with bi-gender.

        • Suzanne McFly September 10th, 2014 at 8:31 pm

God promotes empathy and I feel that is more of a female trait 🙂

        • burqa September 12th, 2014 at 10:48 pm

Or you could learn grammar and thereby understand that the masculine gender subsumes neuter and feminine genders.
At the same time you could expand your knowledge of figures of speech. In this case anthropopatheia, where human characteristics are ascribed to spirit beings, is employed. Understanding the difference between figurative and literal speech would help you better understand the usage and meaning of the words you read.

      • whatthe46 September 10th, 2014 at 10:57 pm

i need to complain, the angels’ pranks are not funny.

        • Suzanne McFly September 11th, 2014 at 10:41 am

When they get booed off stage like cruz has, that’s pretty damn funny to me, but I have a twisted sense of humor.

    • granpa.usthai September 10th, 2014 at 6:36 pm

simply put, the ‘intelligent creator’ is a bit on the sadistic/masochist side. Probably due to a troubled/abusive childhood?

  8. Bunya September 10th, 2014 at 3:22 pm

I don’t understand why this guy is in the life saving business. I would think he’d be better suited as pastor of a mega church, preaching, “surgery is a myth. God can cure anyone at any point in time”.

    • granpa.usthai September 10th, 2014 at 5:55 pm

it would certainly bring down the cost of healthcare, or even the outrageous fees of top surgeons who are not really needed.

  9. Suzanne McFly September 10th, 2014 at 3:40 pm

We need to understand where he is coming from, if evolution really does occur, how can “men” like cheney, bush, carson, limbaugh, hannity….still exist? Wouldn’t they have been wiped out after the Ice Age?

    • Tommy6860 September 10th, 2014 at 5:43 pm

In a real scientific terms, this can actually be explained, it could be Punctuated equilibrium. 🙂 Those bastards killed off the Woollies when they claimed they had WMDs too, Grrr!

    • granpa.usthai September 10th, 2014 at 6:17 pm

not if they hid out in a cave like Cheney did when V-POTUS.

  12. Budda September 10th, 2014 at 4:56 pm

Hey Carson, a question: who created god?

    • granpa.usthai September 10th, 2014 at 6:20 pm

that’s a great question that Mrs. Betty Bowers (America’s BEST [and sexiest] Christian) should contemplate on!

  13. Um Cara September 10th, 2014 at 5:01 pm

Dear God. Educated people STILL using the eyeball argument?

I wouldn’t want this dude operating on ME, that’s for damn sure.

  14. Tommy6860 September 10th, 2014 at 5:37 pm

“carbon dating and all of these things really don’t mean anything to a
God who has the ability to create anything at any point in time.”

Haha I just knew the whole time, that the joke’s been on all of those really gullible scientists /s.

It’s funny how people like Carson have to work much harder at finding ways to avoid facts, by blaming science for ignoring a book made up of the worst kind of fiction.

  15. Tommy6860 September 10th, 2014 at 5:38 pm

He got that medal right before Bush got his ass kicked by that pretzel.

    • Khary A September 10th, 2014 at 5:43 pm

We should find out where that pretzel is and give it a medal.

  16. granpa.usthai September 10th, 2014 at 6:29 pm

not if he was one of the guys holding a dog at Abu Ghraib. gods like that seem to enjoy inflicting fear/pain/despair/human miseries on human beings. Kinda like Bishop Mitt’s exploitation of human misery at one of his concentrated work compounds in China.

Humans having the ability to adapt to the environment sounds like evolution to me!

  22. Spirit of America September 12th, 2014 at 2:19 am

A LOT of comments here, but I did notice not one addressed the philosophical train of questions in a serious manner that he raised(maybe inadvertently ?)…

How would one go about proving that a God (assuming a god would be omnipotent) didn’t indeed poof everything into existence and made it look the way it does?

Now, most people I’ve asked this over the years say one can’t prove it(both atheists and believers).

So then my next question is why and how a person makes his decision to believe one way or the other?

If everyone would give it some serious thought and consideration, there is one conclusion that can be arrived at and surprisingly enough would lead to a much more peaceful place on earth, kid you not.

Science provides peer reviewed proof of 3.7 B years of Earth life evolution on our 4.5 B year old earth, within our 13.8 B year old universe. There is exactly 00.00% factual evidence of either a 4004 BCE Earth or universal age. As this Texas educated science teacher explains in great detail “The Earth is 4.54 billion years old; 3.8 billion years ago, the very first life form came into existence; 225 million years ago, dinosaurs came on the scene; and man took his first steps in Africa 200,000 years ago. Now address the concept of an omnipotent god… because if there is an omnipotent force, it could create what science is reading(not saying it is that way, am asking what is the argument against there being an omnipotent force, what data?)

        • Obewon September 13th, 2014 at 12:16 am

Cut the crap. E=MC^2 and light traveling at 186,000 miles per second allows you or anyone else to use Google to view the infant universe. Here’s a picture: Planck has unveiled the sharpest picture of light from the 380,000-year-old Universe from 13.8 billion years ago. http://www.nature.com/news/planck-snaps-infant-universe-1.12671 <-These results represent refinements of numbers obtained by previous missions such as the Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe (WMAP Data linked here http://map.gsfc.nasa.gov/news/index.html )

          • Spirit of America September 13th, 2014 at 12:20 am

Just because you can’t answer something doesn’t make it crap. And I’m not advocating either side, I’m pointing out that you didn’t address the omnipotent aspect at all.
            Yes or no question:
If there was an omnipotent force, could it not make what is seen to be seen that way?

          • Obewon September 13th, 2014 at 12:22 am

Where’s your proof of a 6,000 year old universe or Earth? Boom!
