The Texas senator was speaking at conference for Middle Eastern Christians when he was booed off stage.[su_center_ad]

Cruz, the keynote speaker at the sold-out D.C. dinner gala for the recently-founded non-profit In Defense of Christians, began by saying that “tonight, we are all united in defense of Christians. Tonight, we are all united in defense of Jews. Tonight, we are all united in defense of people of good faith, who are standing together against those who would persecute and murder those who dare disagree with their religious teachings.”…

“Christians have no greater ally than Israel,” he said, at which point members of the crowd began to yell “stop it” and booed him.

I’m a fan of anyone who boos Carnival Cruz.

    • DaddyO_969 September 11th, 2014 at 9:55 am

A peculiarly Arab quality: The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Not criticizing, I feel the same way.

  2. Lillian Luscher September 11th, 2014 at 12:55 am

First rule of making a speech…”Know your audience.” Obviously, he did not, the idiot!

    • chrisporter September 11th, 2014 at 12:57 am

Ted Cruz is a narcissistic man. Modern day madman. Jewish people don’t like Christians & this fool didn’t know it.

      • labman57 September 11th, 2014 at 1:07 am

        Uh, no.
It’s not about how Jews feel about Christians or vise versa. It’s about how Middle Easterners — Christians and Muslims — feel about the current policies of the Israeli government.

        • DaddyO_969 September 11th, 2014 at 9:54 am

And the interference of the US and the 1000 years of history. It’s not about how Jews feel about C/M or any combination as long as they are here. He was speaking to Christians from the mid-east (as you point out) and should have had something other than arrogance to offer.

      • dave-dr-gonzo September 11th, 2014 at 8:53 am

Actually, most of the Jewish people I know are OK with Christians and even Muslims. I don’t know which planet you’re living on, but here on Earth in the USA things are different.

    • jasperjava September 11th, 2014 at 9:33 am

I don’t know what Cruz was thinking. He probably thought that Middle-Eastern Christians would be the same as the white-bread megachurch Christians he’s used to.

These people have been harmed by Israeli policies. It’s amazing that Cruz didn’t know that.

  3. majii September 11th, 2014 at 1:16 am

I’m ROTFLMBO! It’s about time this tool was booed/laughed off the stage. Cruz might have learned a lesson tonight–not everyone is as stupid as he assumes s/he is, and not every person likes the divisive sh*t he peddles. The only thing that could have made reading about this better would have been if Papa Cruz had been booed, too.

Some us like serious answers to serious issues. He couldn’t sell his bumper-sticker BS to some in this crowd. Good for them.

I think I love this crowd.

  4. granpa.usthai September 11th, 2014 at 1:31 am

I kept telling the Kruz Kult Krazies. When human beings find out this Canadian born Cuban represents Texas in the US Senate as a Republican, they’ll boo him off stage.

    First the booing,

    followed by maniac laughter.

  5. Obewon September 11th, 2014 at 2:31 am

‘Stone him!’ The crowd roared as food fights unfurled with a barrage of tomato’s hurled at their 2016~ front runner. Zealots continued firing as Cruz ran away crying ‘those were my best buds in the small penis gun club. Bwaaaa…’ Boo’s reigned down from the heavens with god herself smirking ‘what a narcissistic jackass!’

    • Tommy6860 September 11th, 2014 at 7:58 am

Good one! I felt like this was an act out of a modern day rendition of Shakespeare’s play Henry V . “St Cruz’s Day Speech”

  6. fahvel September 11th, 2014 at 3:03 am

opportunistic ahole – he’ll say what he thinks they wanna hear – bummer, he don’t believe it and he sure as hell couldn’t give a flying fk.

    • DaddyO_969 September 11th, 2014 at 9:50 am

“I will not stand with you.” Seems vindictive, to me.

  7. Tommy6860 September 11th, 2014 at 3:07 am

I have only one word, “Good!”

  8. Jessie Dalton September 11th, 2014 at 5:26 am

Aaaw, shame! No conservatives fawning all over him. Back to reality, buddy!

  9. Rabeca Issa September 11th, 2014 at 6:18 am

It is all about the region it is an ancient hate among religious leaders of the Middle East, resulting in the Middle East today trouble, the Middle East hate policy and ethnic cleansing is wrong and no way to stop it, whether you live in Turkey, Iraq or any where else in the region. I don’t understand many people how could turn blind support to ethnic cleansing when christian in Israel were kicked out of their homes and forced to leave, in the 2006 war on Lebanon, Israel bombed and killed Christian.

“clown shoes” are the luggage he carries his brain in.

          Small shoe, small sock!

          • Suzanne McFly September 11th, 2014 at 8:56 pm

Very good use of bold, cause it would be odd if the word started with a “c” lol.

            lol

I see the duct tape, where is the extension cords?

  12. mea_mark September 11th, 2014 at 9:14 am

I guess middle-eastern Christians living in the DC area aren’t brainwashed by FOX and realize Cruz is supposed to be their hero.

    • Suzanne McFly September 11th, 2014 at 10:28 am

Amazing isn’t it? And Texas is only 1,500 miles away from DC.

  13. William September 11th, 2014 at 9:18 am

This incident could quite possibly result in a serious setback for the Cruz Palin 2016 bid for the White House.

    • fahvel September 11th, 2014 at 1:09 pm

question once again – how is this thing eligible to run for president of the usa?

      • William September 11th, 2014 at 1:29 pm

“question once again – how is this thing eligible to run for president of the usa?”
        Why do you ask?

        • fahvel September 11th, 2014 at 2:47 pm

is he a natural born us citizen or a mountie or a cigar or just a plain simple minded egomaniac? I thought one had to born of Us parents or born on the soil of the usa which seems not to include texas anymore.

          • m2old4bs September 11th, 2014 at 11:15 pm

His mother was a US citizen, thus Cruz is.

          • Richard September 13th, 2014 at 8:51 am

That’s the simple answer, like it or not.

      • raincheck September 12th, 2014 at 9:43 am

Are you talking about that “thing” in the picture?

    • raincheck September 12th, 2014 at 9:42 am

I wonder how much ‘sunscreen’ it takes for him to become ‘acceptable’ to a majority of his constituents (immigrant-hating white supremacist)? I’ll bet he avoids the Sun like the plague. In the photo above it almost looks like he is checking his skin to see if he needs another application…

  14. jasperjava September 11th, 2014 at 9:24 am

Israel doesn’t distinguish between Christian and Muslim Arabs when they persecute Palestinians, discriminate against them, erect walls and barriers against them.

Israeli bombs don’t distinguish between Christian and Muslim Arabs in Gaza and Lebanon.

    • freemenfarquar September 11th, 2014 at 12:25 pm

Where as the Palestinian terrorists are very target in their attacks against Israeli women, children, and public transportation. Avoid challenging the Israeli military because they know what will happen. Hide their rocket launchers in schools and hospitals. It is not that I back Israel, it just annoys me that there can be no solution as long as either side is intransigent. In this respect the Palestinians have to accept most of the “blame.” Any compromise by Israel is impossible as long as the avowed statements of the Palestinian leadership calls for the destruction of Israel and genocide for the Jews. As I see it Israel show considerable restraint given the insane situation.

  15. Denise September 11th, 2014 at 9:27 am

contributor of air and noise pollution.

  16. jasperjava September 11th, 2014 at 9:30 am

So now it’s “divisive” to ridicule brainless ignorant right-wingers? Let’s just say that we need to “divide” fascists like Cruz from any hope of winning the White House.

  17. DaddyO_969 September 11th, 2014 at 9:49 am

Does this moron take pills to make him more offensive every time he opens his mouth? Next he’ll want to ship all the blacks to Israel so they can have a chance to be saved. “I will not stand with you.” Is it only me or did he seem to intentionally offend these people? Clearly, he has absolutely no idea of the history, anger and violence that region has experienced for 1000 years. In large part caused by Western European Christians (the Crusades) who didn’t care much for Coptic Christians, either). Please, please, please, go somewhere else, sit down and shut the F up.

    • Suzanne McFly September 11th, 2014 at 10:00 am

Maybe he does this to assure his standing with the nuts on the right.

      • snedwos September 11th, 2014 at 2:20 pm

Or, as he sees them, the nuts immediately to his left.

  18. crc3 September 11th, 2014 at 9:54 am

Who cares what Cruz thinks? Oh wait…he can’t think because he has no brain. Move along…nothing to see here…

  19. chungasrevenge September 11th, 2014 at 10:09 am

he’s not a very brave man, is he?

  20. raincheck September 11th, 2014 at 10:59 am

I thought it was pretty clear as to ‘WHO’ peddles that “divisive sh*t”. Shouldn’t you be more concerned about an”elected official” being so divisive? Ted Cruz is extremely divisive… Cruz is a highly educated man that counts on the stupidity/hatred of his constituents (along with a gerrymandered district) to get elected and re-elected.. you know.. people like YOU, who say nothing when Cruz, says something divisive in front of thousands/millions of people on Cable News (Fox) but goes out of their way to, put out a pathetic little post to make a dig at someone… Shouldn’t you WANT the Elected Officials to be better than that?

  21. Shades September 11th, 2014 at 1:55 pm

    That’s gonna leave a mark.

  22. ChrisVosburg September 11th, 2014 at 2:35 pm

Oh very good: as the camera follows Cruz scuttling off the stage in a huff after offending the shit out of everyone there, the camera comes to rest on the big screen displaying the name of the event:

    “Gala Solidarity Dinner.”

  23. sjb1126mn September 11th, 2014 at 2:59 pm

At first glance I was cheered by an account of Cruz being booed. He made these comments deliberately, inviting boos so that he appear strong by standing his ground, and then leaving this group that included people unfriendly towards Israel. His true audience was not those attending the conference but his rabid right wing base, and his performance is praised by them as per this column at Hot Air. http://hotair.com/archives/2014/09/11/video-cruz-booed-offstage-for-defending-israel-at-conference-of-middle-east-christians/

    • Obewon September 12th, 2014 at 11:59 am

Proving once again why nobody should ever believe or trust what HotAir Ed Morrissey claims and dissembles.

  24. Skydog2 September 11th, 2014 at 9:01 pm

According to the Washington Free Beacon, Cruz was boo’d by Hezbollah supporters (re: terrorists) when he expressed support for Israel.

    • Obewon September 12th, 2014 at 11:53 am

Terrorist? GOP Congressman Blasts Ted Cruz For ‘Outrageous And Incendiary’ Remarks To Arab Christians. Cruz prompted boos, both from the Christian attendees and their Jewish allies. “I support Israel, but what Senator Cruz did was outrageous and incendiary,” Dent, whose district includes Syrian and Lebanese-Americans. “He showed a true lack of sensitivity for the people he was speaking to, especially the religious leaders who were there. It was a political speech, inappropriate and, overall, an uncomfortable moment.” http://www.alan.com/2014/09/12/gop-congressman-blasts-ted-cruz-for-outrageous-and-incendiary-remarks-to-arab-christians/

  25. Richard September 13th, 2014 at 8:49 am

Or, the crowd was simply showing their disdain for Ted Cruz.

  26. Kmom4kids September 13th, 2014 at 11:34 pm

He’s a divider, not a uniter. This has been apparent since he started his campaign and has taken office. He is so extreme that the only people who like him are the misfit radicals. Cruz him back to Canada or Cuba. Either “C” country will be glad to have him.
