Zachary Kacmar was charged with felony physical abuse after his wife took photos of marks on their daughter’s neck and reported him to the authorities.

Kacmar’s wife said she was not present on Aug. 30 at the time her daughter was abused, but her daughter told her about what happened afterwards. Following a talk with her pastor, the mother chose to tell police about her husband’s actions, according to KARE 11.

Kacmar told authorities that he shocked his child with the collar, but that he was surprised the collar had an effect on her and hurt her.

If he is found guilty, the Sheboygan man could serve up to three years in prison.[su_csky_ad]

“Following a talk with her pastor,…” i wouldn’t need to talk to no pastor first. what’s wrong with people?

Off topic, but I beleive it was you a few days back that told me you lived by Bullard and Chef Menteur. I’m slow to check responses…sorry.

I’m familiar with the area. New Orleans East is finally making some major strides recovering from Katrina. A hospital finally opened there about four weeks ago and a Wal-Mart before that. Sad to measure progress by a Wal-Mart, but there it is.

yes. that’s me. my great-grandmother’s home was completely destroyed. it had been there since the late 40’s. painful as i was born in that house.

Christians need permission to be good parents.

      • Spirit of America September 12th, 2014 at 9:49 pm

uh oh, a Christianphobe… it’s no better or worse than atheists going to dr spock or ‘how to parent’ books, etc. People often go to others for advice on a myriad of subjects throughout their lives, should we degrade all forms of counseling?

        • tiredoftea September 12th, 2014 at 10:05 pm

No, just dim witted parents who are too stupid to recognize child abuse, of their own children BTW, and need a counselor to assist them in the glaringly obvious decision to call authorities.

          • Spirit of America September 12th, 2014 at 10:10 pm

But not because they’re Christian, her dimwittedness(is that a word?) is solely her own. In MY view, she should have went straight to hospital, calling police to meet her there, and started charges.

        • whatthe46 September 12th, 2014 at 10:47 pm

there’s advice that you may want from someone on family matters and then there’s common fk’n sense. he shocked her daughter with a dog collar and she needs to ask what to do. how about don’t have anymore children for starters. this was an assault on a child, what’s the pastor to do? you people are insane.

          • Spirit of America September 12th, 2014 at 11:17 pm

            Who are ‘you people’?

          • whatthe46 September 12th, 2014 at 11:24 pm

anyone that think it’s normal to go to a pastor for advice about your child being abused.

          • Spirit of America September 12th, 2014 at 11:34 pm

agreed, but my point was about it had nothing to do w/being a christian; or a jew or a hindu, or what ever. She was stupid all on her own.

          • whatthe46 September 13th, 2014 at 12:01 am

understood. but, she did use “religion” as opposed to common sense to instruct her when it came to what was in the best interest of her child who was abused. i don’t care if she went to a priest, rabbi or preacher, etc., i would have made the same comment.

          • Spirit of America September 13th, 2014 at 12:08 am

My view is one doesn’t degrade a group that had nothing to do with her decision. If an atheist, she would have went to a head shrink or friend or what ever, and I wouldn’t have degraded head shrinks cause of her choice, I would blame her stupidity, period. I wouldn’t bring in any 3rd party as part of the blame.

          • whatthe46 September 13th, 2014 at 12:22 am

but, this woman went to a pastor for advice about what to do after someone had just abused her child. and if he had advised her to just pray the abuse away, it could have ended up worse later on. and if an atheist went to a friend, i would have been just as pissed about her stupidity.

          • Spirit of America September 13th, 2014 at 12:25 am

yea but now we’re delving into what if’s and stuff that didn’t happen. Turns out this pastor had his head on straight enough to tell her to go to the police. But again, that’s off topic to my point that a religion had NOTHING to do w/her stupidity and shouldn’t have been brought into it in a degrading manner. Esp since he told her the correct thing!

        • JimNauseam September 13th, 2014 at 1:00 pm

The Bible clearly says women are the property of men, and should submit to men in all things. That’s the difference.

Christianity is based on new testament.

          • Carla Akins September 15th, 2014 at 9:55 pm

That’s a pretty broad statement. I grew up in a Baptist church, and they don’t believe only in the new testament. You may be referring to the whole “covenant” and “dispensation” versions of Christianity but to say Christianity is based on the new testament – inferring the old is disregarded is a hugely inaccurate statement.

          • Spirit of America September 15th, 2014 at 10:59 pm

Didn’t want to have to post a full explanation which would have taken pages; I inferred nothing and ergo wasn’t inaccurate, just not complete letting the reader do their own research.

What’s wrong with that pastor? Fire and brimstone went to his head?

  2. neworleans878 September 12th, 2014 at 7:03 pm

I wouldn’t use an shock dog collar on a dog, let alone a human.

Although I must confess I’d be tempted by the likes of Rush or Sarah.

This is how Scott Walker won the election and survived a recall. Go cheeseheads.

  5. burqa September 12th, 2014 at 8:25 pm

If he’s guilty, the appropriate punishment for the father is obvious…

  6. juicyfruityyy September 12th, 2014 at 8:53 pm

Maybe, he should have tested it himself first. I wouldn’t use it on a dog. Definitely, not a child.

  7. whatthe46 September 12th, 2014 at 10:40 pm

you nailed that. that’s what my hope is.
