Rep. Charlie Dent (R-PA) told the Washington Post that Sen. Ted Cruz deliberately made “outrageous and incendiary” remarks during a speech in front of Arab Christians, which got the Texas Republican booed offstage.

“It was a willful and deliberate confrontation, and very self-serving,” Dent said.

[su_center_ad]Mediaite reports:

During his remarks at the conference held by In Defense of Christians, a non-profit supporting persecuted Christians in the Middle East, Cruz prompted boos, both from the Christian attendees and their Jewish allies, by claiming: “Christians have no greater ally than Israel…If you will not stand with Israel and Jews, then I will not stand with you.”

“I support Israel, but what Senator Cruz did was outrageous and incendiary,” Dent, whose district includes Syrian and Lebanese-Americans. “He showed a true lack of sensitivity for the people he was speaking to, especially the religious leaders who were there. It was a political speech, inappropriate and, overall, an uncomfortable moment.”

Dent speculated that Cruz was trying to whip up some pro-Israel support before his likely 2016 Presidential bid — probably among Tea Party Republicans. “He was speaking to people outside of the building,” he affirmed.

Dent’s district is populated with many Syrian and Lebanese residents.[su_csky_ad]

8 responses to GOP Congressman Blasts Ted Cruz For ‘Outrageous And Incendiary’ Remarks To Arab Christians

This is what happens when an arrogant anti-immigrant-immigrant of Cuban descent rips on groups of people who are Christians that he thinks cannot be Arabs. I’ll add that he is at the high end of that lower end of the GOP senate gene pool.

I read some of the comments on the Daily Caller after he was booed offstage. Holy cow, they’re even more disrespectful to Arab Christians than Cruz.

There are several sites like that. Their comments sections are really disgusting.

The Cruz bubble burst as he was booed off stage. Trying to whip up pro-Israel support for a 2016 Presidential bid obfuscates the all time record low 15% approval Ted’s Tea Party Republicans have today. Tea Party Support hits record low of 15%. This is the lowest percentage reported since CBS first polled on this issue in 2010. http://www.cbsnews.com/news/tea-party-support-hits-new-lows-poll/ Even among the 24% of registered voters remaining Republicans today, just 32% of self-identified Republicans now consider themselves supporters of the tea party. Low approval ratings, but high turn out in caucuses and primaries. Cruz needs the fringe zealots who feed off of the hate to get him to the general election.

He is NOT a natural born citizen of America. He can stick his ‘presidential aspirations’ where the breath smells like butt. He is an absolute scum bag.

That last sentence is what I was looking for. If Dent’s district had no Arabs, you would not have heard a peep from him.

Crucifer, did it on purpose. He could care less about the out-rage.
