A Colorado woman was upset over an 11-year-old boy practicing the clarinet in a nearby backyard, so naturally, she pointed a rifle at the child and yelled, “Fire in the hole!,” according to police.

60-year-old Cheryl Ann Pifer was arrested on Wednesday afternoon at her home and charged with menacing, child abuse, and prohibited use of a weapon.

The Smoking Gun reports that the boy told the police that he was “out back doing his homework playing the clarinet” when the woman came outside and screamed at him to “Get your ass back inside.”

[su_center_ad]According to what the boy told investigators, he told Pifer “it was his homework and he couldn’t [go] inside because the baby was sleeping.”

On top of aiming the 7mm Mauser at the boy, Pifer allegedly pointed the weapon at other children in the backyard.

That action garnered multiple felony menacing and child abuse counts against the woman. Deputies were told by the boy that Pifer “yelled ‘Fire in the hole’” while aiming the firearm at him and the other children while standing at her front door.

Inside Pifer’s front door, deputies found a rifle. “The gun was unloaded but had two rounds in the magazine,” according to The Smoking Gun.

According to authorities,  Pifer appeared intoxicated and referred to the boy as a “nuisance” who “wouldn’t stop so she just wanted him to stop.”

Pifer  said when she was first approached by the police, “Oh, you’re here to arrest me.” When a deputy asked why she would say that, she responded, “Well, because I pointed a gun case at that little neighbor boy.” Pifer was released on a $5000 personal recognizance bond.

There is a thing called the Baker Act, where someone can be held for three days for observation in case they are thought to be a danger to themselves or others. But whatevs, it’s only children out there in fear for their lives because of this woman.

So this is what the NRA means about an armed nation being a polite nation. Point taken.

You know, if it were an accordion, I might have sympathy!

I never got to meet my mother in law because she died long before I met my wife.
In her photo album is a professionally done black and white photo of her and 11 other women in pleated skirts and starched blouses. Each lady is perfectly poised, smiling and holding an accordion.
          I can’t help thinking
“God I wish I could have gotten drunk with that woman”.

She is/was a danger to the children. The next time, the gun might be loaded. Children are going to be noisy outside. I suggest she get some ear-plugs.

how about she get off the sauce – and keep her guns locked up if she has to be drunk?

NRA: It takes a good woman with a gun to stop a bad kid with a clarinet.
