A gravedigger in Spain was suspended after a photo of him posing with an exhumed corpse on social media went viral.

The man, a cemetery worker, dug up the body of a man who died 23 years ago so his recently deceased wife could be added to the family tomb. When the man identified only as “Clemente” opened the crypt he discovered that the man’s body had become mummified and was still practically intact, according to the Daily News.

[su_center_ad]The niece of the deceased took a photograph of her dead relative standing next to the gravedigger and her living relation after she was contacted.

She then sent the picture to a family member via messaging service WhatsApp. then it quickly went viral. Because hey, there are two men posing next to a corpse.
Guardamar del Segura, a town near Alicante, launched an investigation into the employee.

Officials suspended the gravedigger, and the case has been referred to the Civil Guard police force.
Felipe Aldeguer, an elected official, told ABC that the incident was “unpleasant, miserable and timely,” but he added that the gravedigger “had not acted in bad faith.”

Seriously, “bad faith”? Our of respect for the dead and his family, we’re using a blurred image in this post.

And if he had refused the niece he would have been a bad a** also. Couldn’t win and now without a job. Maybe the niece and family will help him out.

“Our of respect for the dead and his family, we’re using a blurred image in this post.” Umm, because he would otherwise die of embarrassment?

Nah, because if it was my mother or my husband in that picture, I’d prefer to not see the image of their face after being dead for decades.

      But that’s just me…

It looks like they don’t have your sense of propriety, since his niece took the pic, what a shame.

She was smart and used it as evidence. If someone touched one of my deceased loved one’s corpses, I’d cut a bitch.

they blurred out Satan’s Canadian exaggerated male anatomy also. I don’t think I’d be embarrassed a bit if I were Canadian exaggerated though. Might even contemplate taking a slow stroll along a creek bank before skinny dipping if I were.

Sounds like, the picture was taken upon the niece’s request. But it wouldn’t surprise me it some Researchers showed up to find out how he became mummified,

It’s Spain. They have a different view on death and a dead corpse that most Anglo European descendants. I’m in agreement with juicy on this though. How the body became mummified is bound to stir up some interest in the medical field.

Well I would imagine that if your occupation involves bodies that they probably are not shocking like they are to some of us.
