Adrian Peterson, the Minnesota Vikings running back, turned himself in to Texas police and is facing charges of reckless or negligent injury to a child.

He was booked at the Montgomery County jail and was released after he posted bond for $15,000. He then got on a flight from Houston back to Minneapolis.

Peterson, who allegedly spanked his son so hard with a switch the boy suffered injuries all over his body, has been ruled inactive for the Vikings’ game Sunday, but has not been suspended by either the team or the NFL.

NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said Peterson’s case “will be reviewed under the NFL’s personal conduct policy.”…

Peterson’s attorney Russ Hardin said in a statement to ABC News that the star running back is cooperating with police and used his judgment as a parent to discipline his son. [su_csky_ad]

“…and used his judgment as a parent to discipline his son.” Let’s hope a court uses its judgement to remove his son from his poor judgement as a parent.

I wonder, whether he truly understand the repercussions, of his parental discipline. The child not only have physical scars but psychological scars, as well.

My brother focused on not allowing the cycle to continue. Because of that, he’s the best father I’ve ever seen. His kids are amazing.

Whipping a 4 year old child with a switch (and with a belt at other times according to the boy) on his bare skin, including not only the buttocks, but also the legs, the genitals and the HANDS is not “spanking”. I don’t care what this man’s father did to him as a child, you don’t have to be a genius to have heard that it is wrong and in fact illegal. Reading what he himself has said about how he whoops his kids is disgusting.
