A state trooper has been arrested on complaints of kidnapping, rape and other crimes after three women alleged the officer sexually assaulted them during traffic stops, according to authorities.

Trooper Eric Roberts, a 16-year veteran with the Highway Patrol, was arrested on Monday and taken to the Creek County jail, according to the Associated Press.

[su_center_ad]Patrol Col. Rick Adams said on Monday that all of  the assaults occurred while Roberts was on duty in northeast Oklahoma.

The 42-year-old has been on administrative leave since July 24th, when a woman alleged he forced her to perform sexual acts in his patrol car near the Tulsa-Creek County border.

Roberts allegedly drove to a secluded area near Frankhoma Road and raped the woman, according to KJRH. The woman has filed a lawsuit.

“Trooper Roberts turned off his camera and mic during the course of the traffic stop,” Adams said during a press conference.

Another woman said Roberts made sexually inappropriate comments during a stop. Court documents state the woman said Roberts ordered her to follow him in her car and eventually forced her to perform sexual acts.

When are we going to hire more women and get rid of this police as military nonsense?

I don’t know if that’s the answer, maybe a link to HQ could be activated whenever the camera is turned off. For officer safety doncha know.

        That’s a good idea.

i’ve always believed with the tech. we have today, that that should be the case as well. but also, that if it is switched off, then HQ’s system will automatically pick up the recording. like a trigger (for lack of a better term) you know. also, ensuring there’s no way that any recording cannot be erased.

Women are the answer to sane policing. There have been a few studies done that show women defuse tense situations better than men and get compliance from suspects with less force used.
