Republican Congressman: ISIS Is On Our Border!
[su_right_ad]Arizona scare-monger Trent Franks says ISIS is on our southern border. Buzzfeed reports:
Franks, appearing on E.W. Jackson’s radio program over the weekend, appeared to cite a report from a conservative website that has been dismissed by federal law enforcement officials about ISIS operating in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, on the border with El Paso.
“It is true, that we know that ISIS is present in Ciudad Juarez or they were within the last few weeks,” Franks said. “So there’s no question that they have designs on trying to come into Arizona. The comment that I’ve made is that if unaccompanied minors can cross the border then certainly trained terrorists probably can to. It is something that is real.”
Franks appears to be referring to a report from the conservative watchdog website Judicial Watch, which report ISIS was operating on the U.S. Mexican border.
A DHS spokesman said the Judicial Watch report was false, telling the Daily Mailthat “we are aware of absolutely nothing credible to substantiate this claim.”[su_csky_ad]

He needs a geography lesson. Then he needs a lesson on the difference between Catholicism and Islam since I believe Mexico is more Catholic than Muslim. He was chosen to run by the Koch Party clearly because he has no educational background and therefore will have an empty head for them to pour their ideas into.

While it may not be “ISIS,” Juarez and much of North-east Mexico has long been occupied by equally violent thugs. Not that long ago it was considered the most violent city in the world, until that dubious distinction went to Tegucigalpa, Honduras, as Mexican Cartels outsourced much of their trafficking and marketing to Central American gangs that operate with near impunity on both sides of the border and have, among other terrible things, created the border refugee crisis… Even though we don’t call them terrorists, that’s exactly what they are and they are attacking America and their own people every day! Of course this is nothing new and it’s obvious that widespread, cross-borders law enforcement corruption is destroying public trust resulting in refugees, vigilantism, militias and other armed self-defense groups in Mexico and here.
Fox covered the Judaical Watch report of ISIS in Juarez a week or so ago. Since then the report was rejected by HHS and considered
by an anonymous federal law enforcement official. Yet, as the right-leaning JW, HHS did not provide any information about how they came to their conclusion. So if anyone’s got good intelligence on what’s up in Juarez it should be HHS which operates Border Patrol, ICE and works closely with NORCOM, DEA, as well as state and local law enforcement agencies. Right?
So who should we believe?
A right-wing hack spouting rw dribble only to induce fear and loathing in humanity’s basement?
Or
Accept government’s conclusion about the ISIS in Juarez based on their known ability to gather intelligence and their great success at interdicting drugs… Oh! Wait. Never mind. Don’t trust anyone, there’s all that “commerce,” you know!?
