A top Democrat on Tuesday called on radio stations to stop broadcasting the Rush Limbaugh Show after the conservative radio host mocked rape victims by suggesting that no means “yes.” Ohio State University’s new sexual assault policies require students to agree to sexual activity, rather than leaving it up to someone that can’t tell yes from no.

[su_center_ad]Rush Limbaugh is a prime example.

Think Progress reports:

On his show on Monday, Limbaugh claimed that requiring affirmative consent is an unreasonable standard because guys know that “no means yes if you know how to spot it.”

In the segment, which was first flagged by Media Matters, Limbaugh claimed that “seduction used to be an art” and college campuses are now making it into something that is considered to be “brutish” and “predatory.”

He suggested it’s unrealistic to require students to ask for permission every step of the way during a sexual encounter. “Are these not lawsuits waiting to happen?” the radio host said.
Limbaugh’s critics wasted no time calling for his removal, pointing out that his approach to sexual assault has no place in a society that’s currently grappling with the best way to respond to intimate partner violence and campus rape cases.

“There’s simply no excusing comments of this offensive nature, especially at a time where our country is having a long-overdue conversation about violence against women,” Democratic Congressional Committee Chairman Rep. Steve Israel (D-NY) said in a statement. “Plain and simple — Rush Limbaugh is advocating for the tolerance of sexual assault and should be taken off the air immediately.”

The stations that still broadcast this man’s show, do not care about rape victims. This is hardly the first time Limbaugh has disparaged females. He called Sandra Fluke a “slut” and a “prostitute” in 2012 for a week straight. The list is endless. [su_csky_ad]

Here’s some GOOD news about El Rushbo:

    http://www.dailykos.com/story/2014/08/28/1325279/-Rush-Limbaugh-Ratings-Dropping-Like-a-Rock

He’s slowly but surely crawling back into his hole, one super-station at a time. Pretty soon he’ll be a whiny little voice on the puny, small market 5,000 watt daytime only AM stations–like the one in my red little town.

  2. juicyfruityyy September 16th, 2014 at 5:24 pm

Limpbutt, should have been let go a long time ago. But the problem is with our Federal Communications agency. The RW propaganda and hate talk stations are allowed to say what they please. They call is freedom of speech. But it isn’t. It is lies, racism, and hatred being broad-casted over the airwaves. This needs to stop. They need to do their job.

    • William September 16th, 2014 at 6:23 pm

Are you kidding? Jabba the Rush is the best thing to ever happen to the Dems. Representing Conservatives and calling a college co-ed a slut right before a presidential election?
      Limpbag is campaign gold.

      • M D Reese September 16th, 2014 at 8:44 pm

Oh man–that would do it for me. Even in the dark, just knowing it was there.

        • Larry Schmitt September 17th, 2014 at 7:19 am

It glows with toxic, radioactive malevolence.

    • M D Reese September 16th, 2014 at 8:43 pm

We-the people OWN the airwaves. We need to take them back. If they want to spew hate, they can go off to some corner of the interwebs like Beck.

  3. rg9rts September 16th, 2014 at 6:06 pm

No No No ….we need him to lead the clown parade for the primaries.

  4. Jody Ellis September 16th, 2014 at 6:31 pm

Ladies Young & Old Alike Grab the Cattle prods & Hot Curling Irons & Let us Teach this Fat Sleazy Old Pervert The Real Meaning of No! This Tub of lard will be Yelling Noooooo but really he means Yes. We will see. We’re coming for you Rush. Bend over & take it like a Man!

  5. Suzanne McFly September 16th, 2014 at 6:46 pm

Women who have been raped since rush said this should sue his fat ass for every penny this slob has because he instigated their attack, then sue his entire family for letting him exist.

    • M D Reese September 16th, 2014 at 8:42 pm

I’m not sure if he has a family. His wives are usually under contract, and insist on their own houses.

      • Suzanne McFly September 17th, 2014 at 11:17 am

Maybe that is his problem, he has absolutely no one in his life, no love and no one too love. I would be a royal ass too.

        • M D Reese September 17th, 2014 at 1:36 pm

I’m alone also–I don’t take it out on others.

          • Suzanne McFly September 17th, 2014 at 1:45 pm

You are not alone, you have people in your life who genuinely care for you. You have people online who don’t even know you who care for you and appreciate your view points. I don’t believe anyone, except old grumpy white men on Viagra, even likes rush, he knows this and this is why he is so damn hateful. Proof money won’t buy you happiness.

          • M D Reese September 17th, 2014 at 1:49 pm

Oh–I’m happy–and I enjoy a few folks here and there. Just not in my personal sphere.

          • Frank Harrison September 18th, 2014 at 1:18 am

Gee, sounds like the both of you are taking it out on Rush right now. How’s that making you fell. Empowered. Yutz’

          • M D Reese September 18th, 2014 at 6:56 pm

Not at all–Rush is a pile of crap no matter how you look at him. He thinks that head-butting a woman is just seduction, and knocking her out is just another way to say “I love you”.

  6. tiredoftea September 16th, 2014 at 6:53 pm

Money trumps tolerance. Until enough people demand that he goes away, by very vocal and visible boycotts of his sponsors, local ones especially, this human pestilence will continue to pollute the airwaves.

    • Frank Harrison September 18th, 2014 at 1:17 am

And even then. Conservatives couldn’t get Al Franken off the air, and libs didn’t even listen to him. He had no listeners, yet, he stayed on local radio, and even got on Sirius in the beginning. Radio’s the lost medium. No one cares. And he’s not on Pandora. Or iHeart, I think. The only people that care, are the ones who are too big a batch of losers to let comments like this go, ignore him, and let him fader off into nothingness. Its funny how liberalism works like that

  7. labman57 September 16th, 2014 at 7:37 pm

So on top of all of his previous misogynistic remarks, the Bombastic One has endorsed rape — why are we not surprised?

On a side note, when Rush says “no more pie for me”, he really means “keep feeding my fat face!”

    • Suzanne McFly September 16th, 2014 at 7:50 pm

It is almost like he is trying to get fired, that will possibly increase his speaking fees? I don’t know what he is doing, but it is for a dollar, that is what motivates this slob.

      • M D Reese September 16th, 2014 at 8:40 pm

I don’t think he can be fired. He IS however being down-graded from 50,000 watt super channels to 5,000 watt local channels. A few years back he down-played his self-induced deafness until he negotiated a big contract–and now they are stuck with him. He’s included in a package deal.

        • whatthe46 September 17th, 2014 at 1:18 am

forced to resign maybe. keep him in his contract but, instead of lots of time, 30 min a day on the weakest station.

          • M D Reese September 17th, 2014 at 1:39 pm

I’ll bet they just play out his contract. It’ll be fun to watch though.

    • M D Reese September 16th, 2014 at 8:46 pm

If we were to interpret everything he says as the opposite, wouldn’t that make him a bleeding heart liberal? He’s really going to hate that.

      • Frank Harrison September 18th, 2014 at 1:13 am

Obviously, so are liberals. Because if it turns out he is a liberal, then liberals will have to stop going after him. Oh wait, what am I thinking. Liberals go after each other all the time. It’s just considered to be more civilized when that happens since liberals are so “evolved.”

  8. Dammitjim September 16th, 2014 at 8:36 pm

I wonder what his “safe word” is? Wait. No. No I don’t.

    • Shades September 16th, 2014 at 10:52 pm

      Don’t think he needs one.

    • Larry Schmitt September 17th, 2014 at 7:35 am

His safe word is “I’m Rush Limbaugh.”

  9. Jake September 16th, 2014 at 8:59 pm

I wonder how his sponsors and their shareholders feel about their money going towards a pro-rape message – Including Geico – “no means yes” – “everybody knows that!”

    • Duck September 16th, 2014 at 11:41 pm

fewer than those who are upset paying taxes to support Reid, Polosi and obama

        RAPIST!!!!!!!

      • Jake September 17th, 2014 at 7:13 am

You mean our elected government – sorry you don’t like that sort of thing -perhaps you should go off and join ISIL.

  10. Duck September 16th, 2014 at 11:39 pm

so every one needs to carry a consent form and four proofs of ID

  11. Duck September 16th, 2014 at 11:43 pm

wow the article is from liberal land, wonder if they have unicorns there

    • whatthe46 September 17th, 2014 at 1:12 am

      Do you think his
statement should be ignored? Does it
really matter who is asking for this dipshit to be dropped? He advocates rape for crying out loud. did any of the conserv, wrong wing, repukes
ask for the same? If not, why not?

    • whatthe46 September 17th, 2014 at 3:09 am

question. how would you feel if you were an advid listener and one of his faithful supporters/followers and you had a female family member that had been raped, then you hear this comment, how would you respond?

  12. Red Eye Robot September 17th, 2014 at 1:45 am

Still waiting for a top democrat to demand ABC remove Whoopie over “I know it wasn’t ‘rape’ rape. I think it was something else, but I don’t believe it was ‘rape’ rape,” Regarding Roman Polanski’s Drugging and raping 13 year old Samantha Galley

    • whatthe46 September 17th, 2014 at 2:16 am

i agree. that was disturbing, the only difference is, she was not going on a rant advocating rape. she’s not out there politically as limp is either. nor is she a tod akins. In his eyes, if you get pregnant, it must
have not been rape. Now, while you’re
attempting to justify and support limp for his comment by bringing up whoopi’s comment,
suggest you don’t seem to have a problem with people advocating rape. As long as you can come compare someone else to that line of ignorance. were you upset about whoopi’s comment? If so, why are you in support of limps? . Do you have children? A daughter specifically? If she were going off to college, would you
      excuse that nonsense?

      • whatthe46 September 17th, 2014 at 2:18 am

by the way redeye… did the repukes, ask for her to be fired? i mean since you seem so upset about the fact 4 years ago that she wasn’t fired.

      • Frank Harrison September 18th, 2014 at 1:31 am

Did you actually listen to what Rush said, or going off the article written about what someone has interpreted what he said? Because if you haven’t actually listened toi the show clip, then your questions just substantiate my comments up above about this whole situation. And if that’s the case……….I forgive you. Now learn from it.

      • Red Eye Robot September 20th, 2014 at 12:38 pm

Limbaugh was advocating rape? If you read the actual transcript you’d have seen he was sarcastically commenting on the mixed messages Society gives boys and young men about women. Goldberg on the other hand was dismissing the actions of a child rapist.

  13. Diz September 17th, 2014 at 4:30 pm

Obviously the man has heard ‘yes’ so few times that it’s understandable he wouldn’t realize there’s a difference between the two.

  14. Frank Harrison September 18th, 2014 at 1:09 am

Wow. Disagreement brings the fascists out of the wood work in a hurry. What I want to know is…..how top is this guy Israel? Does anyone other than his hometown know he’s in congress? Or is that the nature of the liberal machine? Speak up against a known liberal antagonist, and suddenly you become a top democrat.

  15. Frank Harrison September 18th, 2014 at 1:26 am

You know, you liberals are so predictable. Let me spell out the logic here. Instead of ignoring Limbaugh’s comments, your leadership brings these comments out into the open, so those who hate him can talk about him, those who love him can talk about him, and those that didn’t know or care, will now listen to him. By doing so, you’ve just made the undecideds empowered to claim to Nielsen that they listen to him, thereby increasing his listenership, therefore making him a bigger radio hero to be listened to. Now please note, it is this same tactic that you use with equally as much passion to make celebrated legends out of people like Ted Bundy, John Gacy, Adam Lanza, the dude from Colorado who I had forgotten about, and a whole lot of other shooters who wanted to become famous for mass killings and championing your gun control agendas. This is how stupid you are. Your leadership points this out, you keep screaming out their names to your gods (Satan, Lucifer, Prince of Darkness, etc). They become more famous, and they never leave the spotlight. So congratulations, you’ve guaranteed that Rush will get another big contract, make more money, and be on the radio for a very long time. And your leaders love this, because they know they can get you to do this every single time. I’d laugh at you, but it just isn’t funny. So I’ll forgive you instead, and see if you ever learn your lesson.

      http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/opinion/huppke/chi-limbaugh-consent-nfl-20140917-story.html

Rush ; “How many of you guys in your own experience with women have learned that no means yes, if you know how to spot it?”
      ——————————————————-

      RexHuppke : None.

I am 43 years old and have never known a guy who has learned that no means yes, regardless of said guy’s spotting ability. That is a preposterous thing to say.

No, quite simply, means no. It does not mean maybe. It does not mean I’ll think it over. And it most certainly, 100 percent, does not, under any circumstances, mean yes. It is the opposite of yes. It is the absence of affirmative.

      ————————————————–

Rush ; “Let me tell you something, in this modern world, that’s simply…that’s not tolerated.”

      —————————————-

RexHuppke; You’re correct. That’s because what you’ve described is rape, and rape is illegal and abhorrent. That’s why nobody should tolerate it. At all. Ever.

      ———————————————————————–

Rush; “People aren’t even going to try to understand that one.”

      ————————————-

RexHuppke; Right again! Because there is nothing to understand. It’s the idiotic babbling of a man whose entire worldview will, in less than a generation, vanish in a poof of irrelevancy.

      ——————————————————-

Rush; It used to be that it was a cliché. It used to be part of the advice young boys were given.”

      ——————————————————

RexHuppke; Wrong on both counts, sir! It was never a cliché to suggest that no means yes if you know how to spot it – if anyone ever did say that, it was just a really, really stupid, awful thing to say. And anyone who has ever offered that as “advice” to young boys is a bigger idiot than you, which I honestly didn’t think was possible.

      ————————————————————-

Rush; “That’s what we’ve got to change. We have got to reprogram the way we raise men.”

      ———————————————————–

RexHuppke; O.K., I’m going to agree with you there. Granted, you said that with a high-level of sarcasm, but it is indeed true that we need to change how we raise men, or at least how we raise some of them.

That’s the only way to ensure we don’t wind up with more men who believe an excuse for hitting a woman is, “She started it.” That’s the only way to ensure we don’t wind up with more men who offer excuses for rape.

In a nutshell, Mr. Limbaugh, that’s the only way to ensure that we don’t wind up with more men like you.
