Greg Abbott, the über Christian pro-life right wingnut, is running as the GOP gubernatorial candidate against Democrat Wendy Davis for Texas governor this November.  In order to shore up the whacko Republican vote, Abbott is suing President Obama for the crisis at the border.  The crisis stemmed from policies introduced under Reagan, whose War on Drugs was an abysmal failure, creating a violent gang culture in Central America.

What ensued this year, especially, was not the border security per se, because these child-refugees voluntarily turned themselves in to border security.  Very few actually entered Texas unbeknownst because the border was so secure. Obama has boosted border security and deported so many undocumented immigrants (a record-breaking 409,849 in 2012) that the National Council of La Raza, a leading Hispanic rights organization, has branded him “deporter-in-chief.”

Abbott is preparing to sue the Obama administration to recuperate the money spent by the state dealing with the recent border crisis. The border crisis was not a crisis of security; it was a humanitarian crisis where we were directly responsible for creating refugees suffering terrible violence caused by the War on Drugs.  President Obama had absolutely nothing to do with the massive numbers of children seeking asylum in the U.S.  Once again, a Republican is ceremoniously wasting taxpayer dollars to throw red meat at Texans suffering from Obama Derangement Syndrome.  Sad thing is, it will probably garner the far-right maniac a lot of votes.[su_csky_ad]

Another gop’er exploiting their inbred population for their stupidity and the rest of us receive entertainment, it’s a win, win.

It is not a winning situation for anyone. The money wasted, the lies and innuendo put out as fact and the reality that Perry chose to spend 15 million putting the guard and planning to sue and or bill the federal government is carefully planned

True – but it wouldn’t be real entertainment without all that.

I try to be more of the optimistic type, I look for the good part when I can

As in, well…that Mr. Perry is certainly wearing a nice tie today…

Or, in the case of Perry, Austin.

Blame Obama, smear Davis, vote for me!

Although Ronnie and Nancy gave it a big boost, “Drug War” was first introduced by Nixon in 1972. Aside from Carter, who famously declared drug laws should not do more harm than the actual drugs, every President since, including Obama, has been an abysmal failure on drug policy. Of course Mexico and the Central American governments are also to blame for massive corruption and abuse of human rights as they soak up billions of US anti-drug money… As I understand it, Mexico has moved its army to its southern border making it an even more desperate situation for those stuck in gang-land hell. Funny how they can stop women and children fleeing for their lives, but the drugs just keep on coming!

Gotta keep reminding his idiot constituents in Texas just how chrischun-like he really is – and what better way for an über Christian pro-life right wingnut to prove his devotion to republican Jeebus than to waste taxpayer dollars suing the president for something so useless and futile.

I object to the use of the term ‘pro-life’. Most of them aren’t. They’re just anti-abortion.

They’re not even anti-abortion. They’re anti-SAFE abortion. They don’t care if the fetus dies – as long as the mother dies with it.

All of these people who want to sue President Obama with all of these bogus lawsuits should have to reimburse the federal government for all expenses incurred by the President and the executive branch of government when they lose their cases or their cases are thrown out of court.

I just got back from Texas after visiting family. Argued with my brother-in-law who thinks that Wendy Davis is a no-talent hack, that most scientists don’t believe in global warming, that fracking produces NO waste (he’s employed by a company to remain nameless that has direct connections to Cheney AND fracking), and so on.

Love my brother-in-law, but he has been in Texas much, much too long…

Abbott’s frivolous suit will be thrown away. I’l bet he can’t even provide proof of hiring additional Texas national guard deployed for this electioneering stunt. The US Government now pays 80% of Texas’s fire fighting budget after Perry/Abbott defunded firefighting to falsely claim a budget balance now facing billions in deficits.
