[su_center_ad]At about 9:30 a.m., police received multiple calls of an active shooter as employees fled from the scene.
“We have no information regarding the motivation,” Birmingham Police Chief A.C. Roper said.. “We have a pretty good idea about what transpired.”
According to AL.com, Police entered the building and found the three dead people, Roper said. Two of the people killed were employees. The gunman apparently shot himself.
None of the names of the deceased have been released at this time, but the shooter is described as a white male in his 40s, a former UPS employee, wearing a UPS uniform.
According to Roper, no one else was injured.
Roper said that police did not fire any shots.
“It is extremely troubling for the city, for the families involved. When they came to work today they had no idea it would be their last day alive on earth,” Roper said. “They were just people working at their jobs.”
