He’s being hyped by the right, and by himself, as a potential 2016 presidential candidate, and he continues to make head-scratching comments.

“I am a little shocked quite frankly looking at the AP course in American history that’s being taught in high schools across out country right now…There’s only two paragraphs in there about George Washington. George Washington! Little or nothing about Dr. Martin Luther King…I think most people when they finish that course, they’d be ready to go sign up for ISIS. I mean, this is what we’re doing to the young people in our nation…We have got to stop crucifying ourselves. Have we made mistakes as a nation? Of course we have. Why? Because we’re people. And all people make mistakes.”[su_center_ad]

“Because we’re people. And all people make mistakes.” You and the entire fringe right wing, Ben, are the biggest mistakes our country is making now..

Ben has about a snowballs chance in hell of becoming President… The “mistake” I’m worried about is, level headed people NOT showing up to vote during the mid-term elections on top of “voter suppression”.. That would be a HUGE “mistake”
Can you imagine loosing the Senate AND Romney becoming President? It would be “Kansas” on a grand scale…. I have a feeling he (Sh*tt Romney) will give it one last try… When you think about Republicans having the lowest approval rating in History, and yet they’re looking like they may take the Senate… I guess ANYTHING is possible.. I hope Democrats show up “en masse” to vote during the Mid Term.

      • tiredoftea October 2nd, 2014 at 5:21 pm

Agreed, but history says that the midterms will be losses for the President’s party and this year will be no different. 2016 is a different issue with the Repubs having 21 or so seats up for grabs. The Dems have 16 now, so a two year loss of the Senate might be good to increase the turnout after the Repubs try to turn the U.S. into Kansas, because there’s already proof that it’s a disaster for the right. 2016 could, conceivably be an all Dem Congress with a Dem in the White House.

“2016 could, conceivably be an all Dem Congress with a Dem in the White House.”
          I sure hope so…

          • tiredoftea October 3rd, 2014 at 12:04 pm

That’s iikely quite a reach, but if the Repubs keep doing what they’ve been doing with the majority in Congress, the Dems will have more than enough to take both Houses in 2016.

I wonder what flavor of the month this 2016 Republican clown car presidential candidate will be; I’m guessing he’ll be a little late in the season like August. He’ll be long forgotten by September.

I graduated high school in 1970. In my American history class, my 11th grade teacher saw fit to supplement the textbook accounts of the battle of the Little Big Horn with additional material pointing out the fact that the Lakota insurrection was a reaction to repeated American violations of the Treaty of Laramie. The material also pointed out that on that fateful day, Gen. Custer ordered his troops to attack a settlement populated mostly by women, children and the elderly.

I am happy to report that after living with this knowledge for nearly 45 years, I have no desire to join ISIS.

Dr. Carson, in my humble opinion, you are full of sh*t.

Carson is riding this gravy train to the bank!

  5. Obewon October 1st, 2014 at 10:29 pm

Wing Nut Daily birther Ben Carson never ceases to utter a plethora of obvious “mistakes.” The GOP bubble are the very few idolizing his creepy delivery of an even more wackadoodle ideology.

Further evidence that education does not automatically equate with intelligence.

The brain surgeon is desperately in need of psychotherapy.

C-T Scan is in order while he’s at it.

He may have been a brilliant surgeon at one time but he may also have a predisposition to early Alzheimer’s.

“I think most people when they finish that course, they’d be ready to go sign up for ISIS”
I can just see somewhere far far away in a cave, History lessons are being taught to radicalize young men into joining ISIS/ISIL/Whatever

It doesn’t take a “Brain surgeon” to figure out he is in the wrong Party… Wait a minute… what?

    This guy is either;

    – A big phony

    – Someone who swallows and mindlessly repeats swill from right wing media, hook, line and sinker without factchecking)

    – Someone who assumes his audience swallows and mindlessly repeats the swill from right wing media, hook, line and sinker without factchecking).

I have followed some of the things that he said about Saul Alinsky, a topic near and dear to my heart (There is no right wing meme that is as widely accepted by the right and as easily debunked as the Saul Alinsky meme).

He not only repeats things that are made up out of whole cloth, but he tells you that ” You have to be someone who reads. Who is well-read” even as he proves that HE, himself has not read.

He said, “and certainly have no idea the book is dedicated to Lucifer. Yet, because they have not yet educated themselves, they “blindly follow, like the pied piper
over the cliff.”…. when all HE would have to do to educate HIMSELF, is pick up the ACTUAL book to see that that is untrue.

    He brings up the age old question;

    What is worse?

That he ‘blindly follows, like the pied piper over the cliff.” without checking the facts for himself?

Or that he knows better and assumes that his audience “blindly follows, HIM, like the pied piper over the cliff.”?

      Republican Election Cycle RE-RUNS.
only idea they’ve had in close to 40 years is:

give the nations wealth to the rich, crash and burn the economy then rule the world with the blood of the have nots.

one reason I’m a might bit suspicious of the funding of ISIS.

off shore bank accounts without government accountability (in secret)
Bank of Utah jet parked at Tehran Airport
      ISIS financed with ‘secret’ funds
America sucked into an endless ‘armed skirmish’ with trillions of dollars available to ____________________?
If someone’s greed wanted to feed, what better way?
10 million dollar investment in ISIS equates to 10 BILLION+ dollar return from the US Treasury?

of course, these fine super patriotic religious Republican warmongers would never ever do anything like that – it’s why there’s no accountability on their offshore banking like the rest of US have inside the US.

  14. Suzanne McFly October 2nd, 2014 at 9:20 am

Sounds like he is promoting the sanitization of our history books, he wants our history to be a list of lies because that is how America creates Patriots. The faux news channel is evidence of that, their viewers proclaim they are the true Americans even though their beliefs are created from complete falsehoods. Good luck with that Carson, but unfortunately for you there is an overwhelming segment of the population that will not buy into your lies.

    History lesson for Ben:

When the 3rd Reich Gestapo ruled Paris, they could randomly pick up any French citizen they suspected of belonging to the Free Resistance (a terrorist organization to the 3rd Reich if there ever was one – BIG thumbs up to any who are still among the living & their families!) without due process. They could imprison them for however long they so desired. They could beat them, torture them, lie to them, fabricate incriminating documents on them, ship them to prisons in foreign lands, even execute them on the spot, without any concern for ‘war collateral’, as they had command of any 3rd Reich Military Forces as needed.

    -and the Free Resistance GREW.

    ….

    GUANTANAMO!
