Man Posing As Congressman Gets Backstage At Obama Event

The man entered the backstage area during or just after Obama’s speech at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center as members of Congress gathered there to have their pictures taken with the president, said the official, who asked for anonymity to discuss the incident, which has not previously been made public…
The unidentified man said he was Representative Donald Payne Jr., a Democrat from New Jersey, the official said. One member of the White House staff determined that the man wasn’t Payne, and another asked him to leave, the official said. He did so without incident and wasn’t detained.
The Secret Service did its job by screening everyone who attended the dinner, including the man, said Brian Leary, an agency spokesman.
“This guy went through security, fully screened,” he said.

@curlycomedy If the TSA took over security detail at the White House it would take intruders an extra hour to get in.

i’m starting to wonder if there’s a plan here…you know, the gun nutters and secessionists and white supremists…they all say they have members in the military, the police forces, the security agencies…could it be so inept it’s a perfect plan?

Did stuff like this happen so often when Bush was in office? It almost seems like a game is being played… Object of the game: See how often you can get next to the President before getting caught! Finding a car with an assault rifle in it after reports of shots being fired but NOT connecting the two together, not finding evidence that a shooting occurred till AFTER 4 days, and only because a housekeeper found glass and concrete! muting an alarm because it was bothering staffers, convicted felon on the elevator next to the President “WITH A GUN”… Some guy (charged with murder in another country) doing fake sign language next to the Pres. The “fence jumper/lawn runner with knife getting well into the White House.. I heard the SS guy near the entrance jumped out of the guy’s way… Now we have a fake Congressman getting in where he shouldn’t be… shouldn’t they at least charge him with impersonating a Government official? trespassing? SOMETHING? There’s a lot I left out… but you see the seriousness of the situation.. It wouldn’t surprise me if there is a LOT more… Some of which, we probably won’t hear about… Perhaps the head of the Secret Service really was incompetent and that’s just who they wanted in that position… I sure as HELL don’t know what to think!!
