A trial date has been set for Chris Simcox, founder of the now-defunct Minutemen Civil Defense Corp. TheTe Party “patriot” and former leader of the group will head to court in December on charges of child molestation, sexual conduct with a minor and furnishing obscene or harmful items to minors. Sad that he has abused kids. Let’s hope this slows down his political activities and he doesn’t become the next Hannity martyr use against the Dems.

    • Bob Cronos October 6th, 2014 at 4:12 pm

How do you know he abused kids? His trial isn’t until December…

      • Anomaly 100 October 6th, 2014 at 4:18 pm

Would you leave your kids with him for a few hours since he’s not found guilty yet?

        • mrsgunka October 6th, 2014 at 5:07 pm

Anomaly, I wouldn’t even want you left alone with him for a few hours! I like you too much!

          • Anomaly 100 October 6th, 2014 at 10:02 pm

I like you too. You’re my hero!

        • Bob Cronos October 6th, 2014 at 5:55 pm

Nope… Does that prove him guilty? Nope… Only a verdict by a jury can prove he’s guilty… Trying him in the court of public opinion is meaningless…

          • Anomaly 100 October 6th, 2014 at 7:08 pm

Agreed but he’s hardly an upstanding citizen, so I don’t trust him or any militia-type person.

          • Bob Cronos October 6th, 2014 at 7:28 pm

There’s damn few people that I really trust…

          • Anomaly 100 October 6th, 2014 at 7:30 pm

Heh. Me too. I’m pretty skeptical when I meet someone. I choose my friends carefully.

Use the doll to show us where the bad man touched you

      • tiredoftea October 6th, 2014 at 4:50 pm

It amazes me how suddenly you fringe clowns want a presumption of innocence when it’s one of your own getting caught.

        • Bob Cronos October 6th, 2014 at 5:42 pm

Didn’t you learn anything from the Zimmerman case?

          • tiredoftea October 6th, 2014 at 5:49 pm

Yup, I learned that killers go free when a jury wants them to.

          • Bob Cronos October 6th, 2014 at 6:34 pm

The jury saw all the evidence and heard all the testimony and made a decision based on facts, not on the accused persons political views…

          • tiredoftea October 6th, 2014 at 6:45 pm

You just go with that, if it helps your need to identify with the fringe ideology you support.

          • Bob Cronos October 6th, 2014 at 7:02 pm

By golly, I will go with that because that’s exactly what happened…

          • whatthe46 October 6th, 2014 at 7:00 pm

they didn’t hear all the facts because they didn’t get to hear martin’s side. gz made certain of that.

          • Bob Cronos October 6th, 2014 at 7:08 pm

If Martin could have testified there wouldn’t have been any need for a trial…

          • Bunya October 6th, 2014 at 5:55 pm

Yes. We learned that if your white father is a judge in Florida, you can get away with stalking and killing an unarmed black child.

      • Dawn Oceanside October 6th, 2014 at 5:07 pm

We know, it is the kids fault, they dressed to provocatively……

The other excuse by the fringe…..BLAME THE VICTIM(S)!!

‘Family Values’ party, MY ASS !!!

      • Carla Akins October 6th, 2014 at 5:41 pm

I might be willing to allow him the benefit of the doubt if he hadn’t been previously been accused of child molestation back in 1998 and/or been so dishonest in other dealings in his life. In 2005, the MCDC had a mass exodus of members due to his behavior. And these are people that agree with his philosophy. *good to see you.

        • Bob Cronos October 6th, 2014 at 6:53 pm

          Hey Carla!

You have to allow him the benefit of the doubt until he’s proven guilty, that’s the way a fair Justice system works… It’s silly to assume he’s guilty simply because of his political views…

If he is found guilty, rest assured, child molesters do not fare well in prison… They usually end up in solitary for their own protection…

          • Carla Akins October 6th, 2014 at 7:39 pm

Technically, the court and possibly jury has to give him that benefit. I get to ponder his character and show some judgemental bias – as my opinion has no weight on his case. I did not base my opinion on his political leanings, but his past behavior, arrests, multiple child molestation accusations and public statements he’s made. I wouldn’t put him in jail for those things, but I’m comfortable in calling him a douche bag and think my opinion stands up to scrutiny.

          • Bob Cronos October 6th, 2014 at 7:50 pm

            I’ll have to agree… THIS time… :-)>

          • Carla Akins October 6th, 2014 at 7:53 pm

            I’ll take it!

          • m2old4bs October 7th, 2014 at 12:29 pm

Sorry Bob but these days there’s not much “fairness” in our Justice system. The ideals are still promoted, but reality is quite the opposite

          • Bob Cronos October 8th, 2014 at 12:12 am

            If you commit crimes, life’s a bitch…

      • Rusty Shackleford October 6th, 2014 at 8:24 pm

This ain’t a court, buddy. Innocent until proven guilty is procedure for the legal system, not for personal assessments.

My policy for personal judgements is to always believe the victim over the abuser. And I can make these judgement calls without guilt because there is literally NO CONSEQUENCE to the affected parties based on my personal assessment.

So why WOULDN’T I always side with the victim and be able to offer them my sympathies, regardless of whether or not the legal system grants them justice?

        • rg9rts October 7th, 2014 at 8:53 am

Innocent till proven guilty??? LOL try that one on the IRS

          • m2old4bs October 7th, 2014 at 12:27 pm

Yeah I know. Even in the justice system across the country these days it is more like guilty until proven innocent. And then they still get you on a lesser charge. Once caught, i.e. charged with multiple crimes to see if one will stick or not, one simply doesn’t walk away scot free.

          • rg9rts October 7th, 2014 at 2:30 pm

Go directly to jail..do not pass go do not collect $200

Jury Foreman: We find the defendant not guilty on all charges. Except for the moustache. Five to ten for the moustache.

    • Carla Akins October 6th, 2014 at 5:42 pm

Agreed. Unless you’re 1975 Burt Reynolds, you shouldn’t have a mustache.

      • Ol Blue October 6th, 2014 at 5:52 pm

It seems that the only ones sporting them these days are child molesters and cops.

      • Bob Cronos October 6th, 2014 at 7:11 pm

Hey! I’ve got a beard and a mustache – should I turn myself in?

        • Carla Akins October 6th, 2014 at 7:55 pm

Actually a properly trimmed beard, along with a mustache is quite acceptable (unless you have beady little eyes) it’s the mustache thing alone that creeps me out. *edit – unless you look like 1975 Burt, then you can do whatever the hell you want.

          • Bob Cronos October 6th, 2014 at 11:04 pm

You know he uses a cane now right?

          • Carla Akins October 7th, 2014 at 5:15 am

You hush! I refuse to think about current Burt, I like 70’s Burt in leather pants on the Johnny Carson show. Don’t rain on my delusions Bob! It should be said that I don’t use a mirror either – I have no idea who the hell that old person is.

          • Bob Cronos October 8th, 2014 at 12:16 am

            Jane Fonda… (shh… I didn’t say that…)

all those little children he “taught”. Every parent will now be wondering and talking to their kids who had this sick perverted garbage as a teacher

  4. searambler October 6th, 2014 at 7:40 pm

Innocent until proven guilty. If found guilty, toss him in a deep dark hole for a couple decades…

  5. KB723 October 6th, 2014 at 8:21 pm

‘Family Values’ don’t Ya’ Know!!!! =(

  6. Mainah October 6th, 2014 at 8:47 pm

If he did it … then he deserves a trip to Arpiao’s Tent City. Not that I care for that douche either but I figure it has to suck to be there and it’s open to other inmates. Then drop it that he’s a skinner. But for now … he’s got a right to due process. Not that I’d let him near my kids. No one gets that presumption of innocence to be near my kids if you’ve been arrested for such a thing.

    • m2old4bs October 7th, 2014 at 12:23 pm

Naw, he and Sheriff Joke are good friends. Arpaio will find him a nice A/C cell that will protect his sorry ass.

      • Mainah October 7th, 2014 at 2:05 pm

        Crap. Figures.

  7. majii October 6th, 2014 at 8:49 pm

I’ve been following this case for over a year now via the “Phoenix New Times” blog. Simcox has ties to Shawna Ford and the others who were convicted for breaking into a family’s home and killing a young girl and her dad in an attempt to confiscate drugs they thought were there. One of those who says that she was molested by Simcox is his own daughter, who is now an adult living in CA. Another of his potential victims is his younger daughter, who, iirc, is under the age of 12.
