An Oregon man who was openly carrying his brand new handgun was robbed of his own firearm by a man with a gun of his own.

Police were called at 2:10 a.m. on Saturday about the incident.

[su_center_ad]According to KPTV, investigators said the 21-year-old victim bought a handgun earlier in the day and was openly carrying it while talking to his cousin.

According to the unidentified man and his cousin, the man approached them and asked for a cigarette. While the three of them talked, the subject  turned to the victim’s new purchase, before the robber pulled his own gun from his waistband and said, “I like your gun, give it to me.”

The victim handed over his gun and the suspect ran from the scene.

The suspect’s weapon was described as a black gun, possibly semi-automatic. The man’s stolen gun is a black Walther brand, model P22. It is semi-automatic and .22LR-caliber.

Openly carrying your firearm at 2 o’clock in the morning is like begging a thief to take it from you.[su_csky_ad]

LOL god show she has a sense of humor at the NRA’s expense ROTFLMAO

  3. uzza October 8th, 2014 at 11:41 am

“The only thing that robs a good guy with a gun is a bad guy with a gun”.
    Or something like that.

    • tiredoftea October 8th, 2014 at 12:38 pm

“Open Carry has now been undone”, I wish! No, they open carry idiots will use this to prove they are right and double down on the stoopid. Kinda like Canadian Teddy whining about SCOTUS leaving the gay marriage Circuit rulings alone because, uh, States Rights!! or something.

      • uzza October 8th, 2014 at 12:46 pm

The only thing that stops a bad guy with your gun is a good guy with two guns?
But now this bad guy has two guns, so we’ll need at least three …. SALES WILL SKYROCKET!

**I wanted to specify HIS open carry, but it messed up the meter. “Open Carry for him is undone”? changed it for you.

        • tiredoftea October 8th, 2014 at 1:01 pm

IKR?!!?? It will never end with these idiots. More guns solves everything! If only they could make them appear like Neo and Trinity did in “The Matrix”, there would be no bad guy problems at all! Which begs the question, were Trinity and Neo the bad guys or the good guys? Were they bad guys in the matrix and good guys out of it?

BTW, I enjoyed your rhyme as it was!

Nothing like a good clean lung-clearing belly laugh in the morning!
“I like your gun, give it to me.” Priceless.

    Box checked.

  6. Maxx44 October 8th, 2014 at 12:02 pm

Now we have a “good guy” without a gun and a “bad guy” with two guns. See how this works?

  7. Guy Lauten October 8th, 2014 at 12:13 pm

If the stolen gun is later traced to a death, I think this idiot should be brought up for contributing to a homicide.

“Openly carrying your firearm at 2 o’clock in the morning is like begging a thief to take it from you.”
You’d think the opposite would be true more often.

only a fool would think so.

NRA: ‘buy a gun so that a guy with a stolen gun can take it’?

  13. Bunya October 8th, 2014 at 2:13 pm

I KNEW this was going to happen. It just makes sense. More people are killed with stolen rather than with legally obtained firearms. More guns = more robberies – IMO.

        Accidentally I assure you…. 😉

  16. granpa.usthai October 8th, 2014 at 3:00 pm

well, it beats going to jail for shooting yourself. Walther P22, .22cal. is a nice short gun, compact, 350 – 450 dollar range new. Why the guy would want to buy one then just give it away to the first guy with a gun on the street is beyond me. I mean, what happen to the pry it out of my cold dead hands thingie? Better to just carry a small canister of pepper spray. Cost 6 – 10 dollars, if they really want to take it from you, give it to ’em! Most small canisters hold between 20 -40 sprays. (check with your local laws first). I wouldn’t mind at all giving an armed robber (even with now a Walther P22) an empty canister of pepper spray.

Being a responsible gun owner means not letting your guns get stolen..This guy should never be allowed to own another gun…

    • R.J. Carter October 8th, 2014 at 3:12 pm

By that logic, if you let your house get burned down, you deserve to be homeless.

      • tiredoftea October 8th, 2014 at 3:12 pm

An extension of the logic is gun insurance to home insurance.

        • R.J. Carter October 8th, 2014 at 3:16 pm

          Which I completely agree with!

          • tiredoftea October 8th, 2014 at 3:48 pm

            I knew that.

      • Foundryman October 8th, 2014 at 3:13 pm

If my house gets burned down, how is that a threat to your life Einstien?

        • R.J. Carter October 8th, 2014 at 3:17 pm

How was his gun a threat to your life?

          • Foundryman October 8th, 2014 at 4:06 pm

Any gun is a threat, that’s proven everyday, stolen guns in the hands of a thief/criminal doubles that threat.

The last I looked I could drive past a burned house without worrying to much about being shot by some idiot with a stolen gun.

How is a stolen gun not a threat to your life?

          • fahvel October 9th, 2014 at 11:22 am

any gun in the hands of anyone is a threat to anyone nearby. Stop with the foolish questions.

          • R.J. Carter October 9th, 2014 at 11:58 am

Any vehicle in the hands of anyone is a threat to anyone nearby.

    • veggiedude October 8th, 2014 at 8:33 pm

Is there such a thing? 25,000 guns stolen from gun dealers annually.
250,000 guns stolen from homes each year. Who needs a black market? You guys are arming the bad guys!

  19. Herb Sarge Phelps October 8th, 2014 at 4:07 pm

So much irresponsibility here I don’t know where to begin. I guess the best thing to say is a gun out of the hands of one fool into the hands of another fool.

  20. pauly October 8th, 2014 at 5:35 pm

So…the only thing that can stop a good guy from caring a gun is a bad buy caring a gun?!?

  21. NoMcCrory2013 October 8th, 2014 at 8:06 pm
